This is the perfect circular saw for me. Not too heavy, easy to use, and seems well made. I would definitely recommend it.
Domenick Romaguera (verified owner) –
nice saw lightweight without that cheap feeling .already had many other Makita 18 volt tools so just buying the tool instead of a kit is very cost effective. The electric brake is awesome-do not buy any circular saw without this feature

Loving this saw. I was a little reluctant to buy a cordless because the last cordless saw I used was my dads older craftsman 19.2 volt and it was “okay”.This saw cuts like crazy. So far I’ve cut MDF and plywood and it cuts like nothing through those. We are remodeling our kitchen and we are doing butcherblock counters. I used this saw to cut many of the 1-1/2″ birch pieces. It did not fly through them, but it did cut pretty easy. Just had to take my time. Actually cut the counter better than my Ridgid table saw. Was surprising. Also, the led light is such a fantastic feature. It’s so nice to have a light and it’s pretty bright, right on the cut.One of the other reason I bought a new saw was for dust collection. My old corded Makita circular, of course has no dust collection, so this was a welcome feature. It actually works pretty good.My only two slight negatives are, for one it is not perfectly 90 degree’s, it’s a tiny bit off. Maybe I’ll figure a way to get it straight. Other criticism is the duct collection port does not come with the saw. Doesn’t make sense. I had to purchase that elsewhere. Before I bought this, I was looking at the makita compact saw, but after watching some review video’s and looking over the compact, this one is definitely built much, much better, and it’s less expensive.Very happy with the saw. My old corded saw is now collecting dust. This one does everything I need and more.

This circular saw not only met, but exceeded my expectations. I fully expected an underpowered battery hog that was too heavy to hang off of my tool belt. What I got was a lightweight circular saw, has a decent amount of power, and it doesn’t kill my batteries after two cuts.

Couldn’t recommend the 5.0 Ah batteries more. Although they are heavier- suck it up, it builds muscle ;). I love that I can count on the quick charge time and how long each battery lasts. Depending what tool, I can go 2-4 hours on one battery using constantly. I now have three of them and watch for deals. I couldn’t be happier.

This is a nice saw with features my older one didn’t have but best of all it takes the 5.0 battery the old one only took the 3.0 and this was a deal I couldn’t pass up the price was right and it also as a bonus it came with a battery so if your in the market and you like Makita Products who can pass up a deal like this

very accurate, and the light weight makes for a very easy to use tool. the light weight and not having a cord helps with nice cuts. the markings on the cutting guide are easy to see while cutting.

I love this new saw and now my old corded saw that I used for so many years sits in its case. Since purchasing this saw I have also purchased a new Makita cordless router. I love them both.

20 years ago I had battery powered saber saw that was very disappointing. I prefer this one over my plug in saw and was amazed how quickly it went through 2×4. Have not tried anything fancy just wanted something to cut wood if I need to patch things up after a hurricane.

The 5.0 battery last almost all day on one charge. Saw is very light and easy to operate. Worth every penny.

Great purchase. It is lightweight; has plenty of power for home projects; feels safe with grip, guards and electric stop; feels and looks quality; depth and bevel adjustments are quick and easy, the track guide fittings will be useful; makes a lot of cuts on a single charge. I pondered awhile on whether to get Ryobi tools but they never had the tools I wanted in stock, and whether to get a 7-1/2″ saw but I am very satisfied after several first uses.
