Makita is a pioneer in brushless motor engineering, battery technology, and miter saw innovation and has combined this expertise in the 18V X2 (36V) LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless 10″ Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. It’s powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries for 36V power and performance, but without leaving the 18V LXT® platform. Makita brushless motors are engineered for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The XSL06 has an efficient BL™ Brushless Motor that delivers up to 4,400 RPM for fast and efficient cutting, with Automatic Speed Change™ technology to adjust cutting speed and torque under load for optimum performance. The XSL06 has a unique 2-steel rail sliding system design that offers single slide-glide operation for smooth and dead-on accurate cutting right out of the box, as well as a reduced overall footprint that allows the saw to be positioned flush against a wall. The innovative direct-drive gearbox and guard system is engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity (5-1/4”) and crown molding cutting capacity (6-5/8” nested), the largest in its class. It will also crosscut a 4×12 at 90 degrees. The saw miters 0° to 60° left and right, with positive stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45° and 60° (left or right). The bevel lock is located in the front of the saw for easy access and quick adjustments from 0° to 48° (left and right).

Good power and value (when considering the batteries and dual charger) from a very substantial tool. But I may have received a unit where the blade is not in alignment with the sliding rails, resulting in an inconsistent cut…and what good is a miter saw that makes inaccurate cuts?

Saw is absolutely fantastic. Right out of the box everything was nearly perfectly aligned. Very little adjustment needed. The dust collection is better than other miter saws I’ve used when hooked up to a shop vac. Haven’t tried the dust bag though. 2 5 ah batteries have a longer life than I was expecting. I’m a DIYer So I charge them about once a week so I know they’ll be ready for any big projects. I haven’t tested any large or hardwood lumber but the power is there. The only downside of found with the saw so far is how heavy it is. This is likely just a minor trade off for how many of the parts are metal. The rail design is also a huge plus as my shop is tiny and every square foot is precious.Highly recommend this saw.

I purchased this saw from Home Depot online primarily because I needed a good but light weight saw that I can lift onto a work bench or load into my truck to transport. I am an “older” do-it-yourself carpenter. When the box arrived for pickup at Home Depot, it was obvious that this tool is a heavy beast. HD website description: The Home Depot “Product Overview” description states “a compact and portable design that weighs only 27.3 lbs (with battery). When you go to the “Specifications” page, it shows a weight of 44 lbs (so maybe the 17 lb difference is the carton and extra batteries that came with the promotion?)Makita website description: Features: Weighs 60.6 lbs with batteries. Shipping weight: 80.483 lbs. Bottom line — the Home Depot description is terribly wrong and needs to be fixed. I returned it to my local Home Depot, which was done easily other than having to lift this beast onto a hand truck and my wife helping me lift the box into my pickup truck. I have now ordered a new Milwaukee cordless miter saw which is supposed to weigh 45 lbs. Fingers crossed when it arrives next week!

Amazing saw with exceptional power. From hardwoods to softer dimensional lumber, this saw powers through it all. Stock blade is decent but I always prefer diablo blades. Saw was pretty accurate out of the box but I did have to adjust it slightly .

Very happy with the product as I knew I would be. Unfortunately the box was in bad condition when it arrived. A plastic part was broken. After having no luck contacting customer service I chose to order a replacement part and made the repair myself. I received another tool in the mail today. I am surprised there was anything in the box considering how badly it was damaged (and clearly opened at some point). Fortunately it was not broken or missing anything. It is unlikely I will order anything to be shipped from Home Depot again.

Bought this saw to bevel 10 scrip and 6 inch crown, and boy did this tool amaze me, I will say I love makita everything, that’s all I buy, but this saw is just so powerful, precise, and just gives you this feeling no other tool will, it’s accurate, the laser is spot on ande the blade it comes with is surprisingly very good, cuts like butter thru ANYTHING and last me at least 3 days of all day use, don’t doubt on buying it, there is no better miter saw out there other then maybe the 12 inch version, Makita did their job on this one.
