Makita is a pioneer in brushless motor engineering, battery technology, and miter saw innovation and has combined this expertise in the 18V X2 LXT (36V) Lithium-Ion Brushless 10 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. It’s powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries for 36V power and performance, but without leaving the 18V LXT platform. Makita brushless motors are engineered for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The XSL06 has an efficient BL Brushless Motor that delivers up to 4,400 RPM for fast and efficient cutting, with Automatic Speed Change technology to adjust cutting speed and torque under load for optimum performance. The XSL06 has a unique 2-steel rail sliding system design that offers single slide-glide operation for smooth and dead-on accurate cutting right out of the box, as well as a reduced overall footprint that allows the saw to be positioned flush against a wall. The innovative direct-drive gearbox and guard system is engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity (5-1/4 in.) and crown molding cutting capacity (6-5/8 in. nested), the largest in its class. It will also crosscut a 4×12 at 90 °. The saw miters 0 ° to 60 ° left and right, with positive stops at 0 °, 15 °, 22.5 °, 31.6 °, 45 ° and 60 ° (left or right). The bevel lock is located in the front of the saw for easy access and quick adjustments from 0 ° to 48 ° (left and right).

Purchased this saw to install trim around the house. My old saw worked fine but could not handle 5 1/4 inch trim against fence. This saw was a timer saver. Was square out of the box. Sliding rail is extremely smooth. One of the best features is the electric brake. Blade stops as soon as you release trigger. Minimizes tear out. Got 2 free 5 amp hour batteries on top of battery kit so you can’t beat this deal. This Makita is solid.

Amazing saw with exceptional power. From hardwoods to softer dimensional lumber, this saw powers through it all. Stock blade is decent but I always prefer diablo blades. Saw was pretty accurate out of the box but I did have to adjust it slightly .

I was always a dewalt miter saw guy but I finally took the plunge and went cordless with the Makita and couldn’t be happier. This saw is powerful, accurate and smooth as glass. The fences are sturdy and easily removable. Pairs great with the delta rolling saw stand. I can be ready to cut anywhere within a minute after rolling up to the jobsite.

I did alot of research on this saw before I purchased. There were alot of mixed reviews. The saw was packaged nicely not like some of the earlier models. I think that was the cause of some of the accuracy issues. I spent alot of time squaring the saw up & doing test cuts. It was off slightly. One issue I wasn’t happy with was the upper fence was not flush or 90° with the lower fence. Makita was great and sent me another upper fence and was willing to return for new one. The new fence was the same. I ended up filling down the guide pin & backside of fence until perfect. I love the soft start & direct drive motor. It cuts so smoothly!I found no issues with it cupping or cutting a curve when cutting.

Good power and value (when considering the batteries and dual charger) from a very substantial tool. But I may have received a unit where the blade is not in alignment with the sliding rails, resulting in an inconsistent cut…and what good is a miter saw that makes inaccurate cuts?

So far so good. Set up was pretty good out of box. Cuts smooth. Blade was square to fence and table. Dust collection not as good as my festool miter saw. Makita has a similar model to this, an XSL04 that has AWS for turning on / off a Makita vac. Is the lower model number mean it’s an older saw?

I really love this saw. It’s very smooth and easy to use. It didn’t come true out of the box, so I had to dial it in a little, but it seems like it cuts straight now. The only reason why I’m giving this 4 stars is because Makita should give us the option to install their bluetooth transmitter into this for their cordless dust collector. For now, I have to always remember to turn on my vacuum.
