Makita is a pioneer in brushless motor engineering, battery technology, and miter saw innovation. This combined expertise resulted in the 18-Volt X2 LXT (36-Volt) Lithium-Ion Brushless 12 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw Kit (XSL08PT), AWS and Laser. It’s powered by two 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries for 36-Volt power and performance, but without leaving the 18-Volt LXT platform. X2 LXT technology delivers increased power, speed, and run time, without the hassles of a cord. Get up to 175 cuts per charge in 2 in. x 12 in. SPF lumber with two 5.0 Ah batteries. The efficient BL Brushless Motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer tool life and delivers up to 4,400 RPM for fast and smoother cutting. The XSL08PT also features Automatic Speed Change technology to adjust cutting speed and torque under load for optimum performance. For improved efficiency, its equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System technology. AWS utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless communication between the tool and dust extractor (sold separately). When the trigger of the AWS-equipped XSL08PT is engaged, the AWS-equipped dust extractor powers-up. This Promotion also comes with a bonus XVJ03Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Jig Saw, Tool Only.

Works great. Could be better with reduced vibration.

Great saw. Powerful and easy to use. Best I have ever had

Great tool. Makita makes a great product. Not as powerful as expected. There’s no real noticible difference between this and 12v jigsaw I bought this to replace, which is also half the size.

Comfortable handle, great tool!

A great jigsaw in Makita’s LXT line. I am a hobbiest woodworker and my current project is a retro mid-century record console. My old skill jig saw was on its last legs so I decided to go with this model. Wow! I love this jigsaw. Easy to use and with good blades I am getting great cuts. Kicking myself for not upgrading years ago. Highly recommend this jigsaw.

Another great precision-engineered quality product from Makita, and best of all — no cord! 🙂

My husband loves it! Works great

As a trim carpenter I cope my.base trim with jigsaw. This works as good if not better than my corded saw.

Great control, easy blade change, would definitely recommend

I was sorely tempted to splurge and get the Makita brushless jigsaw (currently $269), but grabbed the special offer to get the LXT jigsaw free with purchase of 5.0Ah batteries and charger (currently $199). Cordless saws are Makitas wheelhouse, and this tool lives up to reputation. Feels solid in hand, good ergonomics, consistent power, and easy blade changes. Corded jigsaws are much cheaper, but I am glad I finally went cordless.

Powerful and sturdy, this is another great addition to our Makita battery tools. I replaced an older, corded jigsaw, and can see a huge improvement.

The saw has a pretty good run time for being cordless. Works as I expected it would, cuts great, has a plastic attachment for cutting on sure surfaces without marring.

Easy to use, not much vibration. I am glad I bought it

Like many, good price when “free” with the 5 amp, 2-battery and charger starter kits this Christmas. I was adding system batteries and replacing my old Sears 4-amp orbital saw, for Santa! I RTFM so found the hidden bevel hex key, but, think the Dewalt had a better idea as to using a lever. But… the hex key makes for way cleaner design. First time user using the T-blades, love it, fast and simple. Nice that a few starter blades were included, but slight take away that dust collector, hard case and guide not included with this expensive saw. That hard case is included with cheap starter drills so scratching my head over that decision. All in all the Makita is a big all around improvement over old pot metal, twin set-screw, (now stripped) blade holder on Sears saw.

Someone stole my 40 year old Swiss made Bosch jig saw so bought this to replace it with. Miss the blade blower and not quite as well balanced as my old plug model, but very pleased with my cordless Makita. Chose this non-brushless model because it runs at constant speeds and is unaffected by electronic battery management program like the more expensive model.

It’s heavier than expected, but feel solid/built like a rock. It’s a Makita!
