Makita, a pioneer in brushless motor technology and battery innovation, combines both in the 18-Volt X2 LXT (36-Volt) Lithium-Ion Brushless Rear Handle 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw (XSR01PT). It’s powered by two 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion batteries for maximum performance and has an electronically controlled BL Brushless motor that matches torque and RPM to the application. Makita 18-Volt X2 means freedom from the cord, even for demanding applications like cutting sheet and dimensional lumber that traditionally called for a corded saw. Best of all, users can remain in one battery platform, using the same fast-charging 18-Volt batteries with the XSR01PT as they use across the expansive Makita 18-Volt LXT cordless tool series. The XSR01PT has a long list of features for efficient cutting without the cord. Users of leading corded saws will appreciate the blade-left rear-handle design. The electronically controlled brushless motor delivers a full 5,100 RPM for efficient cutting. In internal testing, the XSR01PT made up to 558 crosscuts per charge in 2×4 SPF lumber using 2 fully-charged 5.0Ah batteries. Added features include a large 2-9/16 in. cutting capacity at 90° that will cut 3X lumber in a single pass and an electric brake for maximum productivity. The saw has a die-cast magnesium base and blade guard with die-cast aluminum blade cover and motor housing, which combines durability with less weight (only 12.4 lbs. with batteries).
- Powered by 2 LXT batteries; X2 LXT technology delivers more power, speed and run time without the hassles of a cord

Love this saw. Lots of power, cuts like a hot knife through butter. Love the blade on the left side, and the measurements on the depth setting.Batteries seem to last forever, too.My only complaint is it comes with a bag instead of a hard case. The saw and charger barely fit in the bag together, and only after some wrangling.

I like the safety trigger on top, not on the sides.

Best tool bought so far, very powerful, even though it was open box, but they gave me 20% off

The product is good, but I was to get 2 extra batteries with it and they were not there. I paid for the one with 2 extra batteries. Very disapointed

Excellent Saw. Awesome Deal.

As long as you make sure the nut that holds the blade is tight the saw cuts through wood like butter.

I’ve been using the saw to build my shed and it has been flawless so far. I don’t know how much of an improvement it is over recent models since I’m replacing an old electric black & decker and everything is an improvement. The batteries charge rapidly and still have a charge after 4-5 hours of non continuous use. The battery life button on the top lets me know if the batteries are getting low. The blade depth adjustment and angle adjust is quick and easy with a clamp/unclamp instead of a locking screw. The handle on the back is nice to guide/push the saw through material, but can be an ergonomic nightmare for the wrist when cutting boards near the ground (or shed floor). It appears to work best when you are cutting at waist height, but that can not always be the case. It gets heavy after continuous use with the 2 batteries, but the portability and power is the offset for me. I also like the brake when letting go of the trigger, The blade stops instantly. The safety button location almost forces you to take your finger off of the trigger to engage it or hold the saw by the front handle to push it in, which I guess is the intention, but becomes a nuisance by the end of the day.

Recently got back into the trades after 8 years away from it. Bought into the Makita platform and it hasnt let me down yet. This saw may be the best of them. Installing a heavy duty custom wood slatwall yesterday and the pieces were 4’x12’. Had to make some short and long cuts, the saw cut through the sheets like butter and was incredibly easy to handle while maintaining a straight cut extending my arm. The saw is lighter than the typical corded worm driven saw and it didnt lose any power as the day went on making dozens of cuts. Another 5star tool from Makita.

As good as advertised. It is heavy, you will know it if you use it all day.
