The combo kit includes a Hammer Driver-Drill with a full 1,090 in./lbs. of Maximum Torque for the most demanding applications in wood, metal and masonry. The kit also includes an efficient and compact Impact Driver that combines a full 1,550 in./lbs. of fastening torque with category-leading precision features. Quick-Shift Mode is an automatic electronic controller that downshifts and reduces rotation and impact speed prior to driving the screw into place, and is engineered to minimize screw thread stripping, breakage and damage to work. For faster tightening of self-drilling screws, the Tightening Mode (T-mode) is engineered to prevent damage to the screw or work piece. Its part of Makita expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the worlds largest cordless tool line-up powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls.

Buy the best tools that you can. This powerhouse drill and driver maintain and enhance my stable of Makita tools. This drill is replacing the comparable drill offered by Makita 12 years ago. My wife didn’t smell the smoke coming from my old drill as she attempted to mix a bucket of mortar. My old 3 Ah batteries are still serviceable. I am all in on Makita.

This set is the way to go if you can. There are cheaper models but you get what you pay for. Now I have 2 5ah batteries and can buy other tools I won’t use as much and come with smaller batteries. If I need to put a 5ah battery on them I have 2.

It worked as advertised. My old Makita hammer drill lost the veryable speed function. I abused that thing for more than 10 years. It still works, but l’m kinda spoiled. The new one is noticably more powerful and the batteries last longer. I am 70 years old back in day I used corded Milwaukee products. I have old Milwaukee corded hole shooter, very powerful. Have to be careful with it cause it will hurt you. Better be careful with that Makita also, it’s pretty powerful. It’s more powerful than most of the corded drills l have used in my life, and all of the of the battery drills. I spent 50 years In the trades mostly as an electrician. Makita surpassed Milwaukee and DeWalt in battery products. lt is kinda sad, the American battery products fell behind, Corded products not so much.

I bought the DeWalt combo kit with full size drill and impact driver that said made in the USA, of course with global materials. Got it home and the batteries fit like crap, and the impact driver over heated with little use. Took it back and picked up this Makita kit and the batteries fit snug and last forever. The impact driver is small and light, and has loads of power. The hammer drill is big but MAN it is a hoss. This drill is so powerful and it comes with a nice METAL handle a foot long or a little more. Trust me this drill will put you on the ground without that handle. These are easly the best tools I have ever owned. I owned Makita all my life and was a idiot for trying the DeWalt kit. You will not be dissapointed with this kit. I plan on buying another kit for my uncle. The drill will drive any deck screw you throw at it, if you want to use it for that. The batteries will drive 3 inch screws all day long.

Sheesh am I happy i went with the Makita LXT line of tools. They hook you up with the 5.0’s because they just want you to use their tools. Motors are built in house and thats their focus in innovation, not batteries. They made sure to use cells that have long run time but also long life time. They outpace the Dewalts that are throughout my job, and are off the chargers less. The other companies want you to buy their batteries, Makita wants you to use their tools.
