Makita is the innovation leader in brushless motor technology, and the XT447T Combo Kit provides BL Brushless Motor tools that deliver longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The XT447T includes a brushless hammer driver-drill that delivers 530 in./lbs. of torque, a brushless impact driver with 1,500 in./lbs. of torque, and a brushless recipro Saw with 2-speed settings and a 1-1/4 in. stroke length for faster cutting. The kit also includes a high-luminance single LED flashlight with 200-Lumens. It’s a 1-stop solution for many drilling, hammer drilling, driving, fastening, and cutting applications. The kit includes (2) 18-Volt LXT 5.0 Ah batteries and each reach a full charge in only 45 minutes on the efficient rapid optimum charger the fastest charge-time in the category for less downtime and increased productivity. For added convenience, the batteries feature an integrated LED battery charge level indicator. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created star protection computer controls. Star protection is communication technology that allows the star protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and compact lithium-ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating star protection inside.

I have used all kinds of batteries for multiple brands and systems but none of them compare to the 5a. The star protection keeps you going through the whole job. One 5a battery all day or multiple 3a batteries throughout your day? You decide but I’ll take only one battery for the job any day.

This batter was bought to replace the original battery that quit after two charge phase. So far this one has taken one charge and is working OK. But the original battery went to Makita for replacement and I haven’t received the replacement yet. I would rate higher but so far I am seeing a 25% failure and that is not accecptable.

Couldn’t recommend the 5.0 Ah batteries more. Although they are heavier- suck it up, it builds muscle ;). I love that I can count on the quick charge time and how long each battery lasts. Depending what tool, I can go 2-4 hours on one battery using constantly. I now have three of them and watch for deals. I couldn’t be happier.
