The Makita 18-Volt LXT lithium-ion cordless six-piece combo kit is built to get the job done. Designed with the professional in mind, this best-in-class cordless solution contains six lithium-ion cordless tools for drilling, driving, fastening, cutting, grinding, demolition and more. The set includes a 1/2 in. hammer driver-drill with 480 in. lbs. of MAX torque, an impact driver with 1,460 in. lbs. of MAX torque, a 6-1/2 in. circular saw that will cut 2X material at 45 degrees, a reciprocating saw with 0-2,800 SPM, a 4-1/2 in. brushless angle grinder with 8,500 RPM and a rechargeable flashlight with a Xenon bulb that lasts up to four hours per charge. The tools are equipped with Makita 18-Volt lithium-ion batteries to work longer for you. Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls to improve tool performance and battery life. This technology enables a Star Protection-equipped tools and batteries to exchange real-time data and monitor conditions during use, protecting against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.

They work flawlessly. The hammer drill is my favorite. Combined with a pilot hole, it wastes no time in putting in a screw.

We have been using Makita tools in our fence construction business for years and couldn’t be happier with the performance, reliability, and durability. These tools take a real beating day after day and continue to work flawlessly. The batteries hold their charge for a very long time and recharge quickly. The carrying bag is perfect for keeping all the tools together and easily hauling them around. And now, the bag has wheels and a collapsable handle to make hauling them around even easier. As for the individual tools:Variable 2-speed 1/2 in. hammer driver/drill: The keyless chuck makes changing out bits a snap. Two speeds and adjustable clutch help prevent stripping out screws. The ability to use it as a hammer drill makes working in masonry and concrete simple. The LED light on the front helps when the light is limited or shadowed.6-1/2 in. circular saw: My favorite saw now. The blade is on the opposite side from most saws, which gives you a clear field of vision when making cuts. In addition, the cut guide on the front of the saw is dead on, so you know exactly where the cut will occur. Plenty of power for cutting through 2″ boards.Reciprocating saw: A work horse for sure. Very simple and fast to change out blades – just a quick twist at the base of the blade and out it comes. The shoe base is easily adjustable as well so you can move the saw to a portion of the blade that has not been worn out from cutting. We use it on wood and metal all day every day with no issues.Variable speed impact driver: Plenty of torque for driving lag screws into metal or wood. Compact and light.4-1/2 in. cut-off/angle grinder: Plenty of power for your everyday grinding needs. Comes with two different types of wheel guards, which is unique. One is for grinding and the other is for cut-off wheels. Balance in hand is good. Easy to change out discs and wheels.4-position flashlight with xenon bulb: This is the only tool I have seen problems with. One of my flashlights would regularly turn off after a few minutes of use. Must have been a bad solder joint. Would like to see the xenon bulb replaced with a LED for even longer running time and a whiter light.

I wish it had a multi tool instead of the flashlight and another battery or 2 and another charger . It would be fantastic if they made a alacart type tool package 5 tools x amount of dollars, 6 tools x amount of dollars. But as for what I bought Makita is the best in my opinion. I have used Dewalts and the triggers seem to go out on variable speed easily. Milwalkees seem to be weak and poor battery life. Rigids have a fantastic warranty but all that I have used of there’s is the lower grade impact and drill and didn’t care to much for them they were weak and poor battery life. I was torn between getting the rigid set of similar specs to the makita because of warranty and choice of tools in bundles .But in the end I couldn’t risk the chance of not having what I know to be the best . And I would be remiss if I didn’t say dewalts hammer drill in there cordless seems quite a bit better for drilling concrete to me but the trigger problem negated that for me and as for a corded 1/2″ drill you could never beat a milwalkee hole hog the old 0-650 rpm were simply indestructible beasts. 30 years as a union carpenter believe me I abused some tools and have very strong opinions on alot of them

Every tool in this set is very high quality. In four months I have not had one let-down. I hate to say anything bad about Dewalt – my former go-to, but Makita has really gotten back in the game with their 18 volt line up. I have even shelved many of my corded tools in favor of these. Battery life is great, and recharge time is minimal. The drill and driver are light but solid and torquey. The saws are well built and true. It has been a great pleasure working with these!
