The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Pin Nailer, 23-Gauge (model XTP02Z, tool only), is a hose-free solution for installing casings, decorative trim, molding and baseboards. The XTP02Z is compact and powerful and drives 5 different pin nail lengths (5/8 in., 11/16 in., 1 in., 1-3/16 in. and 1-3/8 in.) with a magazine capacity of up to 120 nails. Using the 18-Volt LXT 4.0Ah battery, the XTP02Z will drive up to 4,250 nails on a single charge. Its part of Makita expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the worlds largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

Despite some lukewarm reviews, it has worked perfectly for the two weeks that I have had it.Not a single jam, though other reviews mentioned it consistently.Like it so much, just bought the 18 ga. brad nailer.

Not to heavy and easy to use bought it when installing some quarter round around the edges of a new vinyl floor. I/ve used a pneumatic pin nailer before, and this is much easir since your not dragging a hose around the room while nailing. Must have set 100+ pins and didn’t dent the battery charge. Only problems were when the nut loose on the trigger (me) caused them.

It’s a good gun it’s a little bulky compared to a Pneumatic one but it worked well the only complaint I had was when you shoot the longest hens which is a inch and 3/8 sometimes the head stuck out and I had to bang them in typically when I was shooting molding together not molding into sheetrock but molding into moldings like at a 90 where you put 245 together or at a mitered seam other than that it works great but I ended up returning it because the pneumatic one was just better there was no point in having both I was trying to get rid of the compressor but it looks like it’s not ready yet maybe DeWalt?
