Corded power meets cordless convenience with the 18-Volt LXT Brushless Compact Router Kit, model XTR01T7. The 18-Volt LXT Router has an efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The kit includes 2 efficient 18-Volt LXT 5.0Ah batteries, and each reaches a full charge in only 45-minutes the fastest charge-time in the category for less downtime and increased productivity. The XTR01T7 is engineered for a full range of cabinetry and woodworking applications. It has a variable speed control dial (10,000 30,000) RPM) to match the speed to the application, with electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy. The kit includes a plunge base, and additional bases and attachments are available (sold separately). For users of corded Makita Compact Routers (models RT0700C, RT0701C), the bases used with these corded routers are fully compatible with the XTR01T7. In addition, the XTR01T7 easily connects to Makita vacuum cleaners with the optional dust nozzle for improved dust extraction. Its part of Makita expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

I read lots of reviews before buying this kit and I could not be happier with my choice. This little router is a beast. Using a full round bit I did 20 feet on the corner of 3/4 ” maple plywood. I could move the router as fast as I wanted, no sign of a power lag, absolutely love this router.

Really like this cordless version! It is a bit heavier then the corded version but the well worth the weight difference to have the freedom to roam around the job site with no cord attached. Once I was able to manipulate the safety and the trigger at the same time while holding it sidewise for planning off cabinet scribe it was awesome! Not near as “dirty ” as the corded version, meaning it doesn’t throw the shavings as far around the room as my old one. And fits in my old corded version plastic case as well!

Professional grade tool! I bought the ryobi cordless planer on the first go around. The ryobi had a couple things break on it and it was not very precision. I returned the ryobi and ordered the makita. It was worth the extra money! The makita is quiter, built more durable, and feels good in your hand. The makita does not come with a dust bag. But the ryobi did. After the ryobi dust bag got cut up by the blade I see why makita does not provide one. You can purchase a dust bag for the makita but I recommend using a dust collector if anything. Personally I don’t use anything on mine.
