The 18-Volt LXT Router has an efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. The kit includes 2 efficient 18-Volt LXT 5.0 Ah batteries and each reaches a full charge in only 45-minutes the fastest charge-time in the category for less downtime and increased productivity. The XTR01T7 is engineered for a full range of cabinetry and woodworking applications. It has a variable speed control dial (10,000 RPM to 30,000 RPM) to match the speed to the application, with electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy. Convenience features include the smooth rack-and-pinion fine depth adjustment system for more precise settings, dual LED. I was sorely tempted to splurge and get the Makita brushless jigsaw (currently $269), but grabbed the special offer to get the LXT jigsaw free with purchase of 5.0Ah batteries and charger (currently $199). Cordless saws are Makitas wheelhouse, and this tool lives up to reputation. Feels solid in hand, good ergonomics, consistent power, and easy blade changes. Corded jigsaws are much cheaper, but I am glad I finally went cordless.

Great router. Slightly loose/sloppy depth knob, but it cinches down tight. Some may find it a little too loose for finer depth adjustments. Very nice brake on the drive. Strongly suggest adding the dust/vacuum attachment which is not included.

Love it. Cuts anything you put to the test. Not sure of battery life but a Makita will last and last. All my other 18vdc Makita tools last as long as I cut and drill. I’m sure this will. Recommend.

They seem to be lasting longer then the 3.0 I have. Not happy with the charging time, it states it’s a quick charger, but takes an hour to recharge the batteries.

I purchased this under a Makita promotion with two batteries. I own two Festool jigsaws one with a top handle and theother a barrel grip. I have been “cutting the cord” as much as possible and wanted an affordable saw and I know Makitamakes excellent tools. This saw actually cuts smoother then my Festool but admittedly does not have all of the features like a zero clearance blade guard and dust collection. Having said that it is hands down the best cordless jigsaw for themoney. I’m sure their brushless version is more powerful but unless use are hogging through eight quarter maple thenI don’t see a need to spend the additional hundred dollars.

Got this to replace my corded trimmer that burned up. I was shocked at the quality of the build. Very solid but not heavy. Even with the battery on top it is still well balanced. Bit change is easy. Depth adjustment is smooth and stays. Easily the best small router I have ever used. Only weird thing is the on off button placement is not where my fingers would naturally go, but getting used to it.

Like many, good price when “free” with the 5 amp, 2-battery and charger starter kits this Christmas. I was adding system batteries and replacing my old Sears 4-amp orbital saw, for Santa! I RTFM so found the hidden bevel hex key, but, think the Dewalt had a better idea as to using a lever. But… the hex key makes for way cleaner design. First time user using the T-blades, love it, fast and simple. Nice that a few starter blades were included, but slight take away that dust collector, hard case and guide not included with this expensive saw. That hard case is included with cheap starter drills so scratching my head over that decision. All in all the Makita is a big all around improvement over old pot metal, twin set-screw, (now stripped) blade holder on Sears saw.
