The 18-Volt LXT Router has an efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. The kit includes 2 efficient 18-Volt LXT 5.0 Ah batteries and each reaches a full charge in only 45-minutes the fastest charge-time in the category for less downtime and increased productivity. The XTR01T7 is engineered for a full range of cabinetry and woodworking applications. It has a variable speed control dial (10,000 RPM to 30,000 RPM) to match the speed to the application, with electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy. Convenience features include the smooth rack-and-pinion fine depth adjustment system for more precise settings, dual LED. Its part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion system, the worlds largest cordless tool system powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. I am a professional contractor and this unit is def underpowered. It just does not have the speed and cutting power needed for denser woods or even 2x material. It also does NOT have the air blower feature for clearing off the dust at the blade…which is a frustration. If you are a homeowner looking for a well priced, battery operated jigsaw than this is a good unit. It is a quality build but it has its limitations. I would def recommend the BRUSHLESS motor versions for much better performance!

Great little router. More than enough power and easy to handle. Only complaint is the hole in the base on the fixed router portion is too small to accommodate larger bits. Easy fix is to run a bit through it which I did.
