The 18V LXT Router has an efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. It is compatible with Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries (sold separately).The XTR01Z is engineered for a full range of cabinetry and woodworking applications. It has a variable speed control dial (10,000 – 30,000) RPM) to match the speed to the application, with electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy. Tool works well as do all Makita tools I have.I have not used it enough I’m sure, but I did not find accurate depth adjust easy. Also, I bought the plunge base and found very little info on how to use it, the base came with no instructions and the tool manual had minimum description. There were not a manual on their website. I contacted Makita, spoke with a repair person about a manual for the base. He emailed me a PDF with full instructions.
