Corded power meets cordless convenience with the 18V LXT Brushless Compact Router (model XTR01Z, tool only, batteries and charger sold separately). The 18V LXT Router has an efficient Makita BL Brushless Motor for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. It is compatible with Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries (sold separately). The XTR01Z is engineered for a full range of cabinetry and woodworking applications. It has a variable speed control dial (10,000 – 30,000) RPM) to match the speed to the application, with electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load and soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy. Convenience features include the smooth rack-and-pinion fine depth adjustment system for more precise settings, dual L.E.D. lights to illuminate the work surface, and a quick release cam lock system for convenient depth adjustments and base removal/installation. Great unit! I didn’t realize it doesn’t have a plug-in alternative his battery only. That being said it does it’s job well as a dust control system and can be used as a very powerful and back. It’s got more power as a hand vac that I need battery powered and back every used before.

As a rule, Makita tools don’t disappoint me. I chose this track saw over the Kreg because of the brand name, and I’m already into other Makita cordless tools so I have the batteries. I chose it over Festool because of price.I have a 10 inch inexpensive contractor table saw 4 large stock and some kinds of Rip’s, but I bought the track saw for cabinet and Furniture building. It makes very clean accurate cuts. I rated it 4 instead of 5 because I’ve not been able to find they dust bag that fits it for those times when I gots collector is not convenient. It seems like a no-brainer for a cordless tool.

Battery run is the way to go for mobility and quick in getting the job done. Awesome for that final phase touch up work at the end of a project. Washable HEPA filter is nice; saves money on filters, especially HEPA type. The 6 ft long hose is of quality material and pops back in place neatly which isn’t the case with most. It’s a well designed product and takes the hassle out of keeping a project area clean.
