Makita’s 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Jig Saw (model XVJ03) seamlessly combines precision and power with the lowest overall weight in its class. The XVJ03 has a range of precision and comfort features for precise jig saw cutting performance, including less vibration and lower noise for more control and comfort. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt LXT series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion battery. The Makita 18-Volt LXT battery has the fastest charge time in its category, so the battery spends more time working and less time sitting on the charger. The XVJ03 features a Makita built high torque motor that produces a 1 in. stroke and 0-2,600 strokes per minute (SPM) for fast and efficient cutting. In addition, the XVJ03 has lower vibration and less noise for more control and comfort. The XVJ03 has 4 position cut settings (3 orbital and 1 straight) for fast and efficient cutting in all applications and a “tool-less” push-in lock system for quick blade changes. The blade roller guide is positioned close to the work piece for precision accuracy in straight and bevel cuts.

A great jigsaw in Makita’s LXT line. I am a hobbiest woodworker and my current project is a retro mid-century record console. My old skill jig saw was on its last legs so I decided to go with this model. Wow! I love this jigsaw. Easy to use and with good blades I am getting great cuts. Kicking myself for not upgrading years ago. Highly recommend this jigsaw.

I am a professional contractor and this unit is def underpowered. It just does not have the speed and cutting power needed for denser woods or even 2x material. It also does NOT have the air blower feature for clearing off the dust at the blade…which is a frustration. If you are a homeowner looking for a well priced, battery operated jigsaw than this is a good unit. It is a quality build but it has its limitations. I would def recommend the BRUSHLESS motor versions for much better performance!

I was sorely tempted to splurge and get the Makita brushless jigsaw (currently $269), but grabbed the special offer to get the LXT jigsaw free with purchase of 5.0Ah batteries and charger (currently $199). Cordless saws are Makitas wheelhouse, and this tool lives up to reputation. Feels solid in hand, good ergonomics, consistent power, and easy blade changes. Corded jigsaws are much cheaper, but I am glad I finally went cordless.

Love it. Cuts anything you put to the test. Not sure of battery life but a Makita will last and last. All my other 18vdc Makita tools last as long as I cut and drill. I’m sure this will. Recommend.

Great tool. Makita makes a great product. Not as powerful as expected. There’s no real noticible difference between this and 12v jigsaw I bought this to replace, which is also half the size.
