Drive Impact Wrench (XWT08T) combines 740 ft. lbs. fastening torque and 1,180 ft. lbs. break-away torque with extended run time and speed control for unmatched fastening performance. It features an efficient Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. The electronic 3-speed power selection switch gives users more precise fastening control. It is ideal for a range of users, from iron and steel workers to pipe fitters, railroad and automotive mechanics, forming carpenters and more. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Light duty is not in this tools vocabulary! It will turn the nuts and bolts off of whatever you put it up against! I’ve used it to remove and replace leaf springs, lug nuts and many other applications. The batteries hold their charge for a long time and it is not so big that you need 2 hands to use

Makita is a great and reliable professional brand. No matter what Makita tool I buy it always ends up exceeding my expectations, and this impact driver is no exception. It actually replaced a Matco Tools impact driver, as I’m converting all my electric cordless tools over to Makita, and it blows my old Matco impact outta the water. I love the power adjustment feature too because you don’t always want that much torque on somethings and want more on others. I do recommend getting the 5.0 mAh batteries to get the full power from the tool. The only downside to that huge powerful brushless motor is the weight, so if you don’t need anywhere near the torque this thing can put out you should get the 3/8″ instead of the 1/2″. In conclusion, I would take a Makita over a Dewalt or whatever else any day.

So far I am very happy with this impact gun the battery lasts pretty long and it has more than enough power tightening and loosening lug nuts. I’ve checked torque a few times after tightening and they are always good. I have not found a lug that it hasn’t loosened yet even a rusty old van.

This is a heavy duty tool! I like the 3 different torque settings. I already had battery from a drill and driver combo, and even though they are only 2.0 ah they do what I need them to. A word of caution – heavy duty also means a heavy tool. Even with that, I’m very satisfied with the impact wrench! Worth the extra money over other models!

Got it for my husband for his birthday. He was working on a skid steer at the time and it really helped get the job done. Very powerful and there’s different torque settings on it like an air operated one. I’ve been looking at them for 5 months I’m very impressed and happy with this one!
