The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless High Torque 1/2 in. sq. Drive Impact Wrench (XWT08T) combines 740 ft. lbs. fastening torque and 1,180 ft. lbs. break-away torque with extended run time and speed control for unmatched fastening performance. It features an efficient Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed and longer tool life. The electronic 3-speed power selection switch gives users more precise fastening control. It is ideal for a range of users, from iron and steel workers to pipe fitters, railroad and automotive mechanics, forming carpenters and more. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. I got this Impact, after being disappointed in the XWT11T kit I had purchased to work on my car. All I can say is that this thing will remove any bolt that you could possibly think of on your car. I’ve removed axel bolts, balance bolts, spring perch and rear end u-bolts. I never had to put it onto level 3 once.It is quite a bit heavier than the smaller model, and you’ll have to use impact socket extensions to get into a lot of the spaces you need to use it on a vehicle, but it’s performance is flawless.I can’t recommend this model enough. Perfect for junkyarding or hot rodding. This is the impact to buy, if you’re looking for a High Torque option that isn’t air powered!!

Made rotation of the tires on my F250 that much easier. No air compressor/hoses needed, just slap in a battery and remove lug nuts. Lowest torque setting is more than sufficient to torque lug nuts back down, let it hammer a couple times, checked with torque wrench, and all were within a half turn of torqued to the required 185 ft/lbs.

works great! batteries charge fast. quiet impacts. have always been told that makita cordless tools last the longest, so we shall put it to the test and see. one down side (getting use to) is the direction button is very easy to switch accidentally when i go to grab the trigger. not a deal breaker, though. enjoy.
