Where to start…well, it is a Makita, so the quality isn’t in question at all! I have been a 20+ year Makita fan with my first Makita tool, a 1/4″ sheet sander i purchased in 1999 and still use today! This 1/2″ impact wrench adds to my ever growing collection of Makita tools. It is light compared to an equal pneumatic 1/2″ impact wrench I have, and performs spectacularly. I tested it out on one of my car’s wheels, took it off and put it back on without any hesitation what so ever. I received a 5.0 ah battery and charger which fits perfect on my Makita 1/4″, 18v impact wrench. The LED light is positioned great and is bright enough to see anything you are using the wrench on! It is truly a wonderful power tool! It also has a selectable speed setting with 4 various speeds. I used an older impact lug wrench i have had for many years that i normally use with the pneumatic impacter, the socket stayed tight the entire time and has a nice solid feel to it, unlike many of the competitors on the market which just don’t feel too tight.

Solid tool! I have a makita impact driver that I use for mutable things but I wanted to get a wrench that could handle heavier wear and tear for bigger projects. Makita makes tons of tool in just about every size so I decided on this middle of the pack impact wrench at a decent price. It has a excellent feel and comfortable grip l love the placement of the LED lights. Efficient BL brushless motor with 4 different speed/power selections for a range of applications. I’ve never had a issue with any of my makitas they stay cool, no overheating or overloading. I use 5.0 amp batteries with fast charge and they have a good run time depending on the job of course. All around high quality tools with loads of accessories regardless of the tool. The only bad thing that I can say about it is didn’t came with any bag.. But oh well, I would definitely recommend over any other brand

5 stars. Excellent tool. Purchased this tool primarily for automotive work, removing lug nuts [140 ft-lbs] and other various bolts. It’s first test, replace front shocks to my GMC Sierra, passed it with flying colors. Took off the wheels to make it easier. One thing I hate, some tire shops don’t bother to properly torque the lug nuts, they over torque them and when you want to remove the wheels you’re putting in more work, it gets tiring. XWT15 to the rescue. Especially like being able to change the “impact force” and the “application mode”

Like every other Makita tool I have owned this is of superior build quality. The compact size is deceiving once you see how much power this thing has, we were pulling the lug nuts off of Ford F-550 like it was nothing. The auto stop is a great feature, no more chasing lug nuts as they go flying. The light on the front does a nice job of illuminating the work area while being able to choose the speed is a nice bonus. This tool is packed with features and will be a very nice to your tool box

I have been looking for a compact and powerful cordless impact wrench, and decided on the new Makita (XWT15Z) 18-Volt LXT Brushless Cordless 4-Speed ½ inch Impact Wrench with Detent Anvil. Weighting only 4 lbs (with battery) and 5 5/8 inch long, it puts out an impressive 430 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque, and 240 ft-lbs of tightening torque. The brushless motor provides greater efficiency, longer run times and more power over tools with 4-pole brushed motors. After using the tool on several projects, I am very impressed with its performance, ergonomics and functionality. What sets the Makita XWT15Z Impact Wrench apart from competitors is the vast amount of controls available, including 4-speed torque settings, variable and full throttle modes, and 3 forward and reverse auto-stop modes that achieves repetitive results, which is a very desirable for automotive work. The speed also automatically slows down once the nut loosens, and the control settings are saved if you remove the battery. On the negative side, the control panel is rather busy, and not intuitive for someone unfamiliar with the tool. It does require reading the manual to take full advantage of all the control features. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Makita XWT15Z. It comes with a 3 year warranty for parts and labor.

This is a great all-around ½” impact. It looks great. It is well balanced in your hand and has a comfortable handle with rubber sections that also add grip. It’s brushless and offers 240ft.lbs of torque and 430ft.lbs of Nut-Busting torque, so it’s a good one to have around. Its size means that you can get into tighter spaces, but still have lots of available power. This one has what they call Extreme Protection Technology for improved protection from dust and water. There are four different levels of impact force or speed, easily selected with one button. I really like that you can change the application mode. You are able to select between different options of ‘Bolt Modes’, to help you keep from overtightening or breaking a bolt. You can also change the loosening or counterclockwise mode, to keep a nut or bolt from loosening and falling. This is great for overhead work where you might lose the fastener or possibly have it fall on something or someone below. Full speed mode is an option. It allows you to change the trigger setting from the further you squeeze the trigger, the faster the speed, to full speed no matter how hard or easy that you squeeze the trigger. A belt clip is provided that will install easily on either side. Operation is smooth and predictable. The LED can even be adjusted and turned off. Like I said, this is a great all-around impact to have in your toolbox. It’s very well made, comfortable and plenty of power in a compact package. An easy to understand manual is provided, check it out so you can enjoy the available settings for this one. This thing is great. And yes, it will remove properly torqued lug nuts.

First off, the impact wrench just feels like quality in your hand. The fit and finish is excellent. I have a couple if cordless impact drivers, but never a wrench. The tool has several power settings for better range of control. It also has a neat feature that sets different timings to stop the impacts once blows start to limit breakage upon nut loosening. I didn’t immediately have a use for it so I drove the biggest lag bolt I could find. It was able to drive a 1/2” by 10” long lag bolt into a pt 4×4 post long ways without a pilot hole. I would say that is fairly powerful.

I’ve seen Chinese/Korean ripoff copy called “Eddie”… Naw, I can’t trust them at all at any cost. This one is built like a beast but light !!! And it’s has a controls like a gentle giant . This gonna stay in my country. We don’t need those Copies .

This half inch drive impact is great I used mine to install hardware on my gates. I love that this impact with the battery connected only weights four pounds most 1/2-inch impacts are heavy and can wear you out if you have to use them any length of time. I also love the LED light and compact design it really helps when working in poorly lighted areas and tight spaces. With 430 ft lbs. of torque I have no problems using this impact to change tires on my trailer. I will be carrying this tool with me anytime I go on the road with my travel trailer. A detent anvil retains the socket with a spring-loaded ball like on ratchets.

Very powerful. Haven’t figured out the extra settings but on full power works great.

Compact, brushless, and powerful, this impact wrench will tear the nuts off whatever you can throw at it. This is hands-down the nicest tool I’ve owned and I’ve owned a lot of them. Doesn’t come with a battery, but the great thing about Makita is that all the batteries are usable in all the tools, so buying a battery does not limit you to only one tool. This impact wrench is amazing. I worked on cars with my dad back in the day and all we ever had was hand tools and elbow grease, so I’m just blown away by the sheer strength this thing has. This wrench will do all the heavy lifting and you’ll be more productive saving that energy for other tasks, making you a way more efficient operator. Not only is it light(4 pounds dry, no battery), it’s compact (about the length of the battery), it’s also highly-customizeable; it has modes for everything from driving massive hex screws to assembling furniture(it has a low setting). You have settings for both tightening and loosening, so it’s very feature-rich. Take the time to learn about it and you’ll get the most out of your tool. The whole point of a good tool is to make you more efficient at what you’re doing; this thing does that in spades and with style. Highly recommended for those working with heavy duty fasteners or anyone who works on vehicles.
