I had to hollow out a small section of concrete behind a wallboard cutout to conceal low-voltage wiring- This Guardian Handguard Chisel allowed excellent control of the work while protecting my hand from the occasional “glancing blow” due to the tight space the work was in. It really is the best choice for any job that requires a cold chisel.

The handle saved my hand from getting ‘beat up.’ I was working to expand a hole for a Sump-pump (thanks to Hurricane Matthew) in the basement and I was chiseling hard concrete with large rocks (from 1940). The floor was @ 6 inches thick and I had to hit it many times. Without that handle I am sure I might have ended up going to the ER.

Used this to chip out 3″ x 3″ area of cement in front of a shed door. Was sooo much easier to use than an ordinary chisel and saved my hand numerous times when the hammer did not connect with the top of the chisel, Would absolutely recommend it.
