I am a homeowner DIY and recently decided to replace 7 chimney bricks that were deteriorating. Not knowing for sure how to approach this task I knew I needed at least a mason chisel and it turned out that this chisel did it all! I was able to remove all the bricks with the chisel and hammer in a relatively short period of time and then move on to installing new bricks. The chisel is remarkable and easily went through the bricks maintaining its durability even after the intense workout I gave it. I didn’t know what size to but but this 1 3/4 inch worked out perfectly. I highly recommend this mason chisel and the price was incredible as well!

I bought this to help shape fieldstone for a walkway, attempting to keep it looking natural. Because of the geologic structure of fieldstone the chisel alone did not always achieve the look I was going for. I found out that studying the grain of the stone, making an educated guess of the fracture line, and using a diamond bit on my Dremel to score a line worked much better.
