I don’t do a whole lot of work with chisels and I’ll admit that when one of those kinds of jobs came up in the past I’ve used everything from the wrong chisel (whatever I happened to have available) to the wrong tool entirely (umm… old screw drivers?). So, it’s nice to finally have a set of these – and this is a very nice set to have. This set has a good variety of sizes of both punches and chisels that roll up in a handy little case for storage, waiting for the next time one will be needed.Like I said, I don’t use these too often, but the next time I have the need, I’ll have the proper tool. Everyone knows that makes a job go much easier.

This is a great addition for any woodworker or hobbyist. There are punches and chisels in this set that I have never heard of as well as many that I find very useful. They are packaged in a cloth case and the slots are labeled so you can return them to their place. I like that everything is included from quite small to fairly beefy and they seem well made. I also like that the pouch rolls up and takes up less room in the toolbox than a hard case.

This Mayhew Pro 61050 punch and chisel set features a nice variety of different punches and chisels both in size and type. Compared to the product picture on the website, mine came with what I believe is a better designed case. The site picture shows a PVC or plastic case with plastic holders for each chisel. My case was constructed of a durable fabric material with a plastic lining listing the sizes. The chisel pockets were also made of the durable fabric with quality stitching. I believe this design is far more durable and expect it to last many years longer than a PVC/plastic case. The tools are manufactured in the United States and are constructed from a high quality heat treated alloy. The grind on each chisel and punch is precise and shows a commitment to quality. There is also a black oxide coating to help prevent rust.Featured within this set are Center Punch, Cape Chisel, Round Nose Chisel, Diamond Point Chisel, Pin Punch, Solid Punch and Cold Chisel. In some cases multiple sizes of each type are provided.I found the punches and chisels worked well and showed little wear during my testing. This set will be in my toolbox for many years to come.
