The tool is what I hoped and the plastic grip helps with the vibration.

I have several similar tools from Home Depot. The chisel itself is fine. I drilled and split a number of rocks. It held up well, and believe me when I say I gave it everything I had with the 2.5 LB sledge. My complaint is with the hand guard. To prevent the rare occurrence of hitting your hand, you have to put up with the common occurrence of the guard slamming into your hand. This happens when the chisel sinks into the material. Because you’re stationary, when you pound the chisel in, the angle you’re hold it at changes, putting the hard edge of the guard in contact with your hand. Well, that HURTS when you’re pounding it! I can’t count the number of times I nailed my hand like that. Also, the guard is not fixed – it can walk down the chisel when in use, making the situation even more common.I’d love to see a different material used for the guards. Something softer (rubber) would still protect your hand and make it much less painful to use. I’m tempted to remove the guards.

I would recommend one with a small flat chisel tip also. This was excellent though, no possibility of smacking your hand and extremely heavy duty. Will last a lifetime.

I purchased this product to chisel through a 4″ concrete slab for a sump pump installation. Although labor intensive, I was able to complete the project without renting a jackhammer. The safety handle could be of a better material.

This 3/4 concrete chisel and handguard are incredibly tough. I can’t believe how much abuse they can take. Very good value for the money. Brian H.

Worked great for the job.

The tool works great, but the hand guard is cheap plastic and broke quickly under light pressure. It also slid around a lot during use. A Stanley chisel a friend gave me had a much sturdier handguard built onto it, and a longer chisel so the handguard isn’t so close to the work surface.

I had to breakup some old concrete. The chisel I owed wasn’t cutting it.. So I picked this one up at my local HD. Boy did it do the job.

It does what it supposed to do well. For my purpose (digging a hole in the ground and breaking coral rocks), it was a little short in length. I only found a 60 inch pinch point bar for the next up and nothing in-between.

I haven’t used it yet, but this thing is solid as can be. Call me stupid but I never realized there were chisels specifically made for concrete, I just used a regular chisel and ruined the cutting edges. I will be using this to chisel through stucco, cinder block and possible a concrete vein if I run into one. I’ll update the review after I’m done.

This is a massive chisel, will last forever.

This is a simple tool that works well and has held up under “lots of hammering” so far. The plastic guard works as it should. The only thing is that it has an odd ring to it when hammering which has no bearing on its use.

Great chissel. Good leverage, strong, balanced, tool so I give it five stars!
