The QD-DVD-125 24x/48x Standalone 1:5 DVD/CD Duplicator from Microboards is a DVD and CD duplicator that supports standalone operation. A USB 2.0 port is present on the unit, but only communicates with one of the device’s DVD burners. The duplicator is perfect for any user requiring easy copying of audio, video or data DVDs or CDs. PrassiTech Zulu 2 disc mastering software is included.
No hard drive is required, since the duplication process is on an as-you-go basis. However, you do have the option of installing an optional 500GB drive for disc image storage. The LCD screen provides the user with the status of the recording process, minimizing the number of faulty discs. With user-friendly, one-button operation and a sleek design, this duplicator is perfect for any environment.

I use the copy machine to make multiple DVD’s of videos that I make to give to band and orchestra members. I bought this machine to replace the one I had that broke. With this machine I have to be careful when copying to pay attention to whether the master is DVD plus, or DVD minus. Made 75 copys as soon as I unpacked it.

I bought this unit to copy 100-200 DVD+R discs per year to send to friends who share my hobby. The menu system on the unit was a bit cumbersome to navigate but with the instruction manual in one hand I was able to begin copying discs 15 minutes after taking it out of the box. I appreciate the standalone operation. I can burn a master disc on my computer then insert that disc into the duplicator. It would be great if it had a friendlier user interface. I plan to attach a pocket to the side of the unit for the instruction manual to reside in since, due to the frequency of use, I will have to consult it every time I use it. Other than that I am quite happy with the unit.

One drive arrived inoperable. This is a five drive recorder. Called technical support and was on hold for 8 minutes and technician told me to open up case and check cables. Sure enough a cable on the one drive was disconnected. I plugged it in and works good. Unit is easy to use and fast recording.

I had to duplicate 85 DVDs for a play I video taped.. I was tickeled that this duplicator would do 5 copies in 8.5 minutes compared to 11 minutes for my PC with an external DVD drive. I completed all the DVDs only to find most would lock up during playback. I had to do most over again. I tied to duplicate using TDK DVDs from my locate supplier and found they would come out bad every time. I purchased another batch and had no problem. The DVDs tush wouldn’t work would work on the PC. So, I’m baffeled. I ran a pretest on the master DVD to make sure it wasn’t coming from that. So, everything was goodin that respect. I haven’t contacted their support since it’s working now.
