The gray LifeCam Studio for Business from Microsoft is a high-definition webcam with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 allowing for video recordings of up to 1080p. For conducting video calls, the LifeCam Studio supports resolutions of up to 720p, using a compatible video conferencing service. It features CMOS sensor technology for better picture quality. The 75° diagonal field of view makes it easy to capture wide-angle pictures and video, while the 360° rotation capability offers an all-around view. With a wideband microphone, you have the ability to capture quality audio when chatting and recording video.

I use this camera for daytime surveillance of my home driveway entrance so that anytime I’m on my computer I can see anyone who arrives. I leave it in 720 mode instead of 1080 so that I can leave it zoomed in.

Very good image quality. Very easy to setup if you have windows 7 or 8. Just plug it in and the software automatically downloads and installs.Only problem that I think of is the lens cap is just soft rubber and doesnt fit very tightly. It tends to just fall out from time to time on its own. I can see this getting easily lost.It can be used on a Mac as well (with Mactaris, an $ app from the App store)

The tripod mount is nice to have, but it’s not very solid. The autofocus sometimes gets stuck (seems to be a software issue). White balance and sharpness are excellent.
