The LifeCam Cinema WebCam for Business Windows from Microsoft is a compact USB 2.0 camera with a high-quality glass lens that’s great for your business conferencing needs. The autofocus camera can capture 720p HD widescreen video at a fluid 30 frames per second. It uses ClearFrame technology to enhance video recorded in poorly lit environments, and features an integrated digital microphone for audio capture.
The camera’s body is constructed from aluminum, which reduces its weight while at the same time improving its durability. A flexible stand is included, allowing you to position the camera with ease. The Windows Live Call button allows you to launch your favorite video chat or conversation software with ease. The bundled software allows you to apply fun video effects, create your own movies, and upload still photos to the web. The camera is compatible with many popular IM clients, including Windows Live, Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, and Skype.

LifeCam performs well in all areas. The software running on Win 8 is incomplete. Runs complete on Win 7. Download software from Microsoft for Win 7 to run on Win 8, almost perfect. It allows adjustment of resolution and camera settings. Then download Windows Essentials 2012 to complete software.

I purchased this for use with Skype primarily. Out of the box, it looked great – the all aluminum body & glass lens showed the quality. It also has a 3yr warranty from Microsoft, so keep your receipt just in case you need to use it. The autofocus is fast, faster than other webcams I’ve tried. I like the clip on the USB cable, which allows you to neatly bundle the cord to make it tidy. Low light quality is also great. If you follow the setup advice below, you’ll have this up & running in about 5mins (setup is for PC, using Skype 5.0 for Windows):1) Download the latest driver from Microsoft, here is the link @12) Start the setup process after you download the driver by 2x-clicking on the file. It will walk you through the setup process, ask you to plug in the cam, etc.3) If you don’t use any of the Microsoft supplied applications to video call/conference, there is an option to exclude them during setup.4) After setup completes, use the Microsoft Live Cam application to check the cam and make any adjustments. I found the auto setting to work well, without any further tweaking needed.Enjoy your new webcam!

I wanted a camera to stream video from our church. This camera was a little hard to install on Windows XP – It kept downloading updates and after the third time I was able to use it. Once set up it works great. If you are going to use it on Skype then it is a little tougher. The Skype control panel says the video quality is either bad or medium depending on which USB port is used. It needs a USB 2 port or better. The image is a little fuzzy unless you sit in the sweet spot (about 12 – 16 from the camera). I am not able to find a focus control. It is working well for us after we got it installed. I followed al the instructions. I am not sure about the HD. It doesn’t seem to be High Def to me.

Easy install with things up and running in about 15 minutes. Good video quality, works well for video calling. My first webcam and feel it was a good choice. Will get confused focusing once in a while but usually comes back within a few seconds and no adjustment. Running on an old AMD Athion XP machine with minimal problem provided no other applications running. Something with more power would probably work much better.

True 720p resolution! Good low light speed. Very quick to set up and get familiar with. YouTube Hi quality approved, people dont like your crummy 360p videos seriously. Only thing I really didnt like was sometimes the frames per second seem to wander a bit in same exact lighting. Overall for the money, Highly recommended.

The quality is not bad could be just a tad better but for the price its better than most webcams. It takes real good still pictures and does real good video and has awesome low light pickup so you dont need all the lights on in the room to use it. If you manulay control the focus in the software you can zoom in on objects 1 inch away Cons.. It focuses too much.. I beleive its due to its software.

It works great for Live Concert Streaming…. I plan on getting a few more to place around the stage to get closeups… Zoom tilt & pan nice added feature. Wished it had a better zoom… Quality definitely is affected by lighting. Still nice low light abilities.
