Navigate Windows 10 with the comfort and precision of the gray Microsoft Classic Intellimouse.
The Classic Intellimouse offers some modern improvements to its inspiration, the Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0. The classic ergonomic design features five buttons, three of which can be customized. The mouse connects to your computer via a wired USB connector. Housing a Microsoft BlueTrack sensor, the Classic Intellimouse can track on glass surfaces and provide a dpi range of up to 3200. The tail light is a clean, modern white color, letting you know that the Classic Intellimouse is plugged in.

At the back of the mouse, there’s white LED which looks quite good as a design accent, but if you plan to use this mouse in a dark environment, it may quickly become annoying. The configuration software for the mouse does not include an option to disable the light. Ironically, if you flip the mouse upside down, the light does go out, but then the blue sensor shines bright.

The wheel doesn’t support tilt, which I’ve gotten used to, and the mouse isn’t as comfortable as I remembered from years ago. There’s nothing wrong with this mouse, but better choices exist today.

The old Classic had better ergonomics. This new edition is longer and barely fits on my 3M mousepad.

The Microsoft Classic Intellimouse feels great on the hand and works like a charm.

I am a firm believer in wired keyboards and a mouse. The batteries never die!! I have used this mouse for daily for over 20 years and it is absolutely the best mouse you can buy. I finally had to replace it after the laser stopped tracking (after 20 years!!). It is extremely accurate, very comfortable, and can handle millions of clicks. Great for editing.

I was in the search for a true ergonomic mouse since my hand was starting to show discomfort on my decades old mouse. The classic intellimouse does justice to its original predecesor. It is a light mouse but you can feel the quality on the hardware. A warning to linux users, the mouse out of the box runs at a low dpi (~400), I have not been able to find a way to increase this yet.

I’ve been so frustrated with how mice have gotten so small over the years. I don’t have huge hands, but trying to use most mice sold these days is like pushing around a toy car. The last few mice I’ve bought I ended up having to get fancy gaming mice in order to get something that was a decent size. In addition to being expensive these had a bunch of extra buttons I had to avoid pushing, and special software you had to run to configure them as they were extremely sensitive out of the box. I’m sure they are great for people who need all the extra features, but I’m happy to have a basic option that is comfortable and gets the job done without any rigamarole. PS: This works fine for me in Linux. Don’t know what DPI is is using but was able to adjust it to a nice sensitivity with the normal window manager utilities (XFCE in my case).

Bought this to replace my 10 year old MS optical mouse. The two extra buttons are nice. The mouse feels nice after a little getting used to, as it is lighter and more sensitive than my old mouse. I got this mouse on sale and the fact that it works on any surface even glass is a bonus. If I had one thing to nit pick, it would be the foot pads on the mouse. They’re not rubber and transmit more NVH through the mouse as you drag it.
