Install the 32-bit Windows 10 Home operating system from Microsoft on your notebook or desktop to enhance it with a hybrid Start Menu, Microsoft Edge web browser, and Cortana personal assistant. Without leaving the Windows desktop to access your apps, the hybrid Start Menu in Windows 10 Home looks similar to the menu in Windows 7 and combines it with the live tiles used in Windows 8’s Start Screen. The Start Menu has been enlarged to include these tiles, which can let you view how many email messages you have, the current weather status, and more. In addition to the live tiles, you still have enough room on the Start Menu to pin your most frequently used apps and files. Built with the strengths of Windows 7 and Windows 8, Windows 10 Home combines the best features of both engines to remain compatible with nearly all your peripherals and the computer’s internal components. Furthermore, it offers a similar design to the previous version of Windows, so you can easily start using Windows 10 Home right away.
The web browser included with Windows 10 Home is Microsoft Edge. This browser lets you write or type notes directly on webpages and share them with others. You can save your favorite websites for offline access as well as read online articles free of distractions by displaying only what you want to see in a Reading view mode. With Cortana integrated in Microsoft Edge, you can highlight a word on a webpage and have Cortana run a search and display the results in a mini window. Not just a part of your browser, Cortana is integrated into Windows 10, and she can can guide you to your answer by searching the Internet, Help menu, apps, files, and settings. You can also use Cortana to verbally record a task into her Notebook, where she keeps track of what you like and what you want her to do.
Utilizing Windows 10 Home’s Continuum feature on a 2-in-1 convertible notebook allows you to switch back a forth between tablet and notebook mode. When you only want to use the display’s touchscreen feature in tablet mode, Continuum changes the layout of the Windows 10 desktop screen and the apps go full screen, so you can easily use your fingers to perform actions and tap your selections. Additionally, it is designed to connect all your Windows 10 devices together with universal apps. These apps provide the same features whether you are working on a desktop computer in the office or finishing the task using a Windows 10-compatible smartphone while commuting back home.
Microsoft has redesigned the Setting menu within Windows 10 Home to make it easier for you to customize your system’s settings, such as Devices, Network & Internet, Accounts, and more. On the bottom right of the taskbar, you get an action center icon that expands to display your important notifications from your apps and Windows 10 Home. You also have quick access to frequently used settings and apps, so you can turn on your computer’s Bluetooth or adjust the screen’s brightness level without having to go through the entire menu.
Another feature of Windows 10 Home is the ability to neatly snap up to four applications side by side so you can clearly view the content. In addition to this, you can create multiple virtual desktop workspaces that contain different apps pertaining to your work or entertainment. Included along with Windows 10 Home are apps such as Maps, Photos, Mail & Calendar, Music, Video, and the Windows Store for additional content.
Please note that the System Builder version of Windows 10 Home is tied to the first computer you install it on, specifically to the motherboard. This means you cannot transfer the license to another computer (purchase the Retail version for this option). The System Builder version also does not come with free support from Microsoft and cannot be used to upgrade from an older version of Windows.

Only needed one good install of this software on my MBP. Free option is gone, and for less than $100, this is an excellent alternative.

The disc worked perfectly and was sealed well and protected when it was shipped, the only issue was how small the product key on the casing was.

I hated to buy another copy of winderz just to get Parallels to work, but that’s what happened. I basically despise windows but have to use it for some purposes.

Received win10 1909 update version. No problems with download. I used create installation media option to load to a usb3 flash drive. Install to upgrade existing windows 7. Not clean install. On my Lenovo thinkpad laptop everything went smoothly. Seemed to preserved all the windows settings it could. e.g. Desktop background, desktop icons position and size not altered. taskbar position (top) and taskbar settings carried over. Not all win 7 interface options are supported, but I knew that going in. Picked an accent color similar to my win 7 title color. Did not try aftermarket powershell personalization features yet. But overall the user interface and appearance look a lot like my win7 personalization. And not at all like the standard W10 interface I have seen on other’s computers. This w10 version has simple on/off settings for cortana and some other features I don’t want to use. It did not resist my uninstalling applications I didn’t want. Install routine updated most drivers to win 10 version if needed. Then I ran Lenovo update which got the lenovo specific software and drivers that windows didn’t It even left chrome as default browser though it recommended edge a couple times before easily when I selected. Left assigned drive letters alone. My laptop is that not complicated, but I was surprised how well the install did with driver etc updates as it installed. Did not seem overloaded with preinstalled convenience and helper applications (unless they are hiding really well.)

Works like a charm. Totally legit. Comes with case sticker with serial number and registers just fine. B&H always comes through

I have been a Mac guy for 30 years. What changed me is that Mac stopped letting users upgrade their own machines (e.g., RAM, HDD, GPU, etc.) The new Mac Pro was all soldered together with no upgradability. As my old Mac Pro tower was huffing and puffing along, I considered a PC build for photo editing. Loading Windows 10 onto my machine was a breeze. Much more so than XP or Windows 7. Windows has really grown up in its user friendliness, and is every bit comparable to Mac OS X. The system runs very smooth on 16GB of RAM and a i5-7500. I am still getting used to Windows gamma on the screen, but I’m sure that will be fine in time. So 5 stars from this Mac convert.

Worked great, installation was simple, and everything is running as it should!

Dells little tricky recovery sequences did not work and left me with a worthless computer that wouldnt boot. The final solution was to install a fresh copy of windows. The OEM version fit the bill perfectly.

The functionality of windows has improved over the years, and what it is today is a great OS. The digital download option here is very convenient to get a PC up and running quickly. I would give it 5 starts but the way Microsoft keeps pushing for a required Microsoft account on login is a bit shady to me.

A little bit cheaper than buying direct from Microsoft. Key was received within an hour and it activated with no issues through Windows. It’s already a bit overpriced, so why not save a little and buy from B&H? I’ll recommend this to others. One bit of warning. You will need an extra computer (or borrow a friend’s) and a 16GB flash drive to download and create the install media. If you don’t have this, then you should buy the boxed version and they will ship you windows on a flash drive. Windows 10 is what it is. If you need it there’s not much other choice so not worth reviewing the actual product in detail. But this is a good way to buy it.

Cheaper than a normal copy of Win10 and functions perfectly. I swear it gives you more setup options than the regular Win10. Every new one I build, this is my choice. They are NOT created equal…

Installation was easy. I use a 1440p monitor so the scaling options are nice and simple. Its just that more applications need to adopt dpi awareness. I use Microsoft Edge now because text looks blurry on Chrome as they haven’t implemented dpi awareness yet. Edge is fine but doesn’t have extension or full screen support. Any application without dpi awareness looks slightly blurry, which is a lot of them unfortunately. Just an aesthetic issue though.
