Easy to use and very accurate. With all the doors I have done in the past I wish I would have purchased this long ago.

I purchased a blank, exterior rated door and purchased this set. I was able to get a professional looking router for the hinge set, but there are issues with this design. Plastic pieces snuggly fit into the metal guild and when removing the default piece, it snapped in half, it didn’t take much force, plastic guilds are paper thin. Lucky for me it was not the size I needed. From that point on I would “carefully” slid a screwdriver under the plastic piece and “gently” work around the edges to remove the mortise guild.

Replaced door jambs on 2 french doors, so had to make mortises for 12 hinges. Tool paid for itself

I was skeptical on how well it was going to work when I first took it out of the package, but after using it I was impressed with it and the results are professional looking.

The Hing Mate 200 worked perfectly. I was able to replace an old slab with a new one in no time thanks to this huge time saving product. Trying to route the door hinges any other way would have been laborsome.

It works really good but you have to watch pulling your router out when done – I wasn’t paying attention and took a chunk out of the plastic guide – but not enough to ruin it – again it works great and the servic in getting it at bowling green ky Home Depot was great

The mortising jig was very easy to use. The instructions were more than adequate. The jig did a consistently good job!

This kit is not exactly intuitive, though with a little patience and care, it gives nice results that are predictable and repeatable, unlike free-handing or chiseling. It is worth the price, especially if you are doing more than a few doors. Be prepared to do some practicing, measuring and refiguring.

A very easy jig set to use. You’ll need to be very accurate with the measurements. The spacing charts are very helpful. The template didn’t match the radius of the hinges I had bought. Some simple extra routing was needed

We are re-modeling our house and re-using the original door frames. Consequently we will be needing several new doors. I didn’t want to take the time to tear out and re-install with complete door kits. Besides a door is about $8 cheaper than a whole kit.I would recommend that you do as the instructions say and practice on a scrap piece of wood to set the depth and make sure that you have the right template and that it is positioned correctly. This should be used by someone who is a bit familiar with woodworking though.Overall it is an excellent product and easy to use and will save you hours of chiseling and bad words. For the price, you would need to do several doors to justify the cost, (V.S. door kits) but it does come with the router bit which some competitors don’t. Also would recommend the purchase of the latch routing kit if you are doing a bunch of doors.

One missing template size was sent promptly from manufacturer. For easier handling, substituted lath screws for small provided screws.Initial project – installing hinges on two doors, frames, and two windows – was quick, clean and easy. Great to have the various sizes of templates on hand.
