Circle CutterThis kit has everything you need to cut perfect circles with your router. The majority of the parts are plastic. The bar is a aluminum . Included are also guides and a router bit. The first thing I noticed is the bar arm with measurements is not printed to the aluminum . Its a plastic tape slid in a groove in the bar on each side inches and mm. While assembling the product it’s hard to get this together without the measuring tape pushing out. Mine snapped although just at the very end . There is a good instruction book that explains everything to make this tool perform . I found some of it to time consuming to set up whereas just mounting the router using a tape measure and testing the guide got me going much faster. With the fine adjustments it was a easy.I was able to cut several circles very easy in plywood and made my own adapter for a knife blade to cut foam. My three routes all were able to mount easy. Using your router and the tool makes a much better circle then a jig or band saw as the edges need no attention after your done. This product is a good tool to have hanging in your shop if circle production is something you need to do. Also included is an offset guide which worked as well .

I know this is the type of jig you can probably build yourself, but having a kit does make it easy. Not to mention it does come with a router bit so it’s a pretty decent deal. You’ll have to take a moment to read through the instructions but it is fairly intuitive. I had it mated up to my Bosch 1617 router with no issue.. The diameter measurements are easy to read and dial in. There is a little bit of finesse required to get the base locked into the guide (the Millennium Falcon looking piece). I found it a little tricky to see the alignment arrows and the plastic doesn’t slide super easy especially when things are dusty. However once you’re locked and loaded you can cut perfect circles all day long. I will say it’s not hard to setup but it does take a little bit of time to get everything ready. For one off cuts I’d probably reach for my hole saws first on anything 4″ and under despite the router likely giving a cleaner edge. However for off sizes or anything larger this is a great option.

This circle cutting guide has all the necessary parts to cut circles in workable materials from 10″ to 52″ with the large circle guide and from 1.5″ to 12″ with the small circle guide. This guide is meant to be used with a standard router and the face plate included with the set adapts to most router brands. There is a set guide included to insure proper centering of the face plate and once the face plate is installed it is a simple matter to snap together and tighten the other components to allow a perfect circular cut of the desired dimension. There are measurement scales on both the large and small circle guide arms showing the circle diameter to be cut. There is also an indicator on the screw down set which indicates inside and outside cut dimensions – very handy. A router bit specific to the device is also included. Once the face plate is mounted on the router the base plate and rotation arm is simply snapped into place and the cut is made around a small centering screw. The results are clean and precise. See the pics.

I had 10 critical circles to put in a set of oak tables. The Milescraft Circle Guide kit made the task fast, with easy setup, neat cuts, and 100% repeatedly accurate. I used one 1/4 inch screw in the leg to define the center point and it was ready to go. The size of the circle need only set once and the tool allows the router to be remove for the next piece to be attached with out resetting the radius size. Shipping and the tool far exceeded my expectations, while not not breaking the bank. The tool lends itself for many router tasks and the base setup allows fast disconnect from the guide for independent use in between circle that need to be cut. While not my normal habit I reviewed the instructions and was rewarded with help utilizing some useful features of functionality.

Only issue is that to correct hardware to attach to a Dewalt router is not in the package.

For years I have used a bandsaw and homemade jig for cutting wood or plywood circles for projects and normally got good results. The only problem was the rough edge left from the bandsaw blade required sanding. Since I already owned the router offset base and found it pretty handy, I ordered the kit for the circle cutting jigs. As others have pointed out it does a very nice job cutting perfect circles and the edge is very clean and doesn’t need much sanding. I own several routers and used a big beefy plunge router with a depth adjustment knob. The router rotates with little effort and almost no vibration while I turn the adjustment knob to lower the bit on every pass. The offset base is gives you better control for edge routing or anytime the router base isn’t fully on the surface of the wood.

The guide kit works well for the sizes indicated. With a little ingenuity, it can cut larger sizes as well.

Being a woodworker since my 7th. grade woodshop class I have used many different brands and homemade circle jigs, but my first time with the Milescraft and I really like it. After the setup which is covered step by step in the instruction manual,I cut three perfect circles in three passes each, very lightweight and easy to handle. To mount your router they even include a centering cone, and a list of 22 different types of routers and the pattern of what lettered holes to mount each one. It also has a large and a small circle jig, drill bit and mounting screws everything you need to get started but the router. In my shop I have many Milescraft tools and accessories and they all are well designed and create great results. This is a great circle jig and I think anyone with a router should have one.

Used on “soft” maple to make a 35-inch diameter tabletop. It fit my fixed base Bosch 1617; I believe three holes in the base lined up ok. It took about 5 passes in nearly 7/8″ thick wood but the end result was satisfactory.
