For a beginner like me, it helped a lot to make holes exactly to fit the dowel pins. First I tried a separate dowel pins and a drill bit. But they didnt match perfect. Worth for the drill bits and the pointers to make holes.

The Dowel Jig Kit worked well and was very helpful in creating a display case. We used this kit to drill dowel holes for the frame and for the shelving. The only issue we had was that we were using 1×3 shelves and there was no easy way to center the holes on board as narrow as 2.5″. It really needs about 4″ minimum.
