It works exactly as described. Viewing the video and following the suggestion to buy the drill stops was useful. Of course the results also depend on the quality of the wood you use. Even slightly warped boards should never be used.

This is a great tool and the only thing is, don’t use it as a self centering dowel. That is what I searched for and got this. The dowel holes are not centered. The tool is meant to put the dowel in the same spot on two pieces of wood for a matched joint. Just be careful which sides you want aligned.
