Needs some assembly out of the box. Goes together well. Feels solid. This is not meant for precision drilling, but does very well when you have some tolerance to work with. I attached a locating jig to mine. Used it to locate, drill and install 6 threaded inserts into a broken table. Worked fantastic.

Work way better than I expected. Very pleased with this product

Very easy to assemble and use. No more guessing if I drilled a hole perfectly straight.

Little bit of a wobble but besides that worked well for what I needed.

Unless the tool is clamped down real good, precision is not guaranteed. Must apply considerable pressure to keep it from moving all over the place. It’s awkward to use, at least for me it was. It is not made for left hand folks.

Very, very happy with the product

The first one I received had way too much play in head. Called customer service and they sent me another which was much better. Was able to make a broom rack with consistently straight dowels. See photos.

A bit cumbersome with freehand use. Works best when secured well. Screwing base to worksurface and using interior area to drill works great for smaller projects. Now to figure how to do that for larger stuff.

It works good so far. Easy to set at different angles and make drilling straight through stair post easy.

Always a tool for the job!!!! This one saved me!

So far I think it works well enough for the projects I have around the house.I was able to drill a straighter hole than I would have been able to do it free hand. There is some play in it but one the hole is started it works pretty well.Overall would recommend, much more affordable than a drill press.

This drill guide works very well for the prices. The only piece I don’t really understand is the handle on one side. You can’t press down on it as the wrong amount of pressure could tilt the device while you’re drilling. Other than that, it worked great with my Ryobi 18v drill.

Works really well for its intended application. Very impressive tool. I wish I had it in my toolbox earlier 😉

I needed to drill a steel pipe at 2 places. This Jig helped me to do that very well.

Not perfect for my purpose

I’ve used it to make consistent depth holes. It maintained the same depth for over 50 holes with no adjustments required. I haven’t used it for precision alignment holes yet, so only rated it 4 stars. If you don’t have room for a drill press, this is a nice alternative for small to medium jobs.

Many of these reviews you may have already read are correct. This is a blunt instrument kind of tool and should NOT be used for any kind of exacting work. There is just too much play between the rods, the base and the tool. If you are just looking for a way to make a straight hole with some tolerance then this is ok. You’ll also need to get some lubricant as the rods and spring are very tight and jerky. Good luck.
