Very happy with the results from this all metal drill guide. I had to drill several holes at an angle for a cable railing system through 4×4’s on two staircases. I set the desired angle, clamped it down and drilled near perfect pilot holes to be finished with a longer bit by hand.

The Drill Guide works well but it is not as sturdy or precise as a drill press – no surprise, just adding to be clear. The key style chuck takes extra effort to lock down and the slide begins to stick with repeated use, some light lube helps that. Overall, well worth the price for solid construction and portability of purpose. I would definitely recommend purchasing this Drill Guide.

The Miles raft Drillmate I received had a bearing issue. The bearings were pressed to tight or were bad. I contacted Milescraft and they immediately sent me a replacement yoke assembly to replace that major part The new assembly works perfectly and I have already used the tool for drilling hidden hinge holes in some cabinet doors. Very satisfied.

The drill works nicely for the tasks I bought if for. Very well constructed.The one criticism I do have but easily fixed was how the drill can bind when pressing down. The two metal guide rods need very close alignment. To remedy this I will casually loosen the locking mechanism to allow ample play which works perfectly. As I only use the drill guide occasionally it’s not a huge issue and still worth while.
