Simple tool but very useful. I would’ve rated it 5 stars if it had angle indicators.

Overview use/audience: Used to find inside and outside angles to make miter cuts.My Experience: If you’ve ever made miter cuts for molding or angle cuts for projects you quickly realize nothing is ever truly square and that a 45 degree cut. You’re left using wood filler in the gaps or trying to tweak your cut for a better fit. Enter an angle finder. This allows you to evenly measure an angle and then make an accurate cut with your miter saw.I was adding a support for some storage in a shed converted to a craft room. The shed is old and has shifted and I knew a 45 degree cut was going to have gaps. Instead, I put the angle finder on one support at the height I wanted my support and using a level on top of the AngleFinder set it at the point where it was level. I think set the AngleFinder on stop of my 2×4 and made a line of the angle on it. That gave me one angle. Then I measured the length of my support and marked that length on the stud. Then I took the angle of the other side and drew that line making sure the line intersected the longest length. My angle was not clearly marked on the indicator but I was able to use the rough angle and the line I drew to line the miter saw up. The result was a perfect fit when I drilled my pocket holes and fit the board up!Pros:- easy to use & accurate results using my method above (drawing a line of the angle not trying to use the indicator on the AngleFinder)Cons:- trying to use the angles listed on the tool is difficult if your angle doesn’t match up; not precise enoughFinal Verdict: Way easier than trying to hold a board and mark it.

Works like a fricken charm for those of us who do not live by the miter saw but the results make it appear as though we do.

nice tight gearing makes for solid settings. slots in handle allow bar clamps to hold in place. The yellow part that touches the miter saw blade is hollowed out , so I filled it with epoxy and added a 1/4″ rare earth magnet to hold tight to the miter saw blade.

Tool is great if you’re careful. I love the concept, but the locking mechanism isn’t perfect. You have to be careful when your using the tool to position the saw blade. If you bump the blade into the tool, it can cause the angle to shift. Then you have to start over and reset the tool.

This product served the exact purpose as to why I purchased it for. I received it 5 days before the exact estimated date. I work for a competitor of Home Depot and buy stuff from both companies. I am pleased with both companies. One company sells stuff that the other does not.

I have slowly been replacing my fascia boards but have avoided the peaks because they are a bit more complicated with odd angles and a compound miter to give architectural detail. I did one with out this and it was a pain getting everything to match. I pulled another one down this weekend and used this to just copy the angles and it worked perfectly. So much less work than last time. It has an easy to use cam lock to hold it in place once you set it and some pop out wings to use it along the edge of a board if you need. Probably not a tool I need often but when you do it saves so much time and frustration.
