I was really disappointed. I ordered 2 of these drills for Christmas presents and when I went to wrap them noticed one box had written DNI all over it. I opened the box, which had been taped shut, to find a used drill, very dirty and I was mortified. I called the store and was told that DNI means Do Not Inventory and was the display drill. They have promised to replace it, I am returning it today. Hope they have one in stock, since time is short and I need it for a Christmas gift, in 11 days. Which is why I ordered it to be picked up at the store, to save me time in shopping! Other than that I think it is a good drill.

This drill has a lot of power but like in the one star review on this product my chuck started to come loose on first use with a 3/4 auger when drilling through telephone poles even thought the drill barely even strained. So i tightened the chuck back one the drill removed the chuck set screw cleaned and put it back with blue threadlocker. after waiting the recommended 24 hours for threadlocker to set i then used the largest auger 1 1/4 inch I had one a scrap pole and had no issues so far. if i do i will be posting another review. I recommend tightening chuck and applying blue threadlocker to setscrew, otherwise you will break it.

Bought the drill to drill holes in metal 1/4″ thick angle iron and 3/8″ thick flat bar steel. The 8 amps really make a difference with great torque and low rpm power. I was really surprised how small the drill is when compared to the overall power and torque it puts out. With a solid 5 year mfg’s warranty, this drill is a “no-brainier” for the DIYer and professional. I love Milwaukee power tools. They last and last and last.

I bought this drill to drill holes into 4×4 posts, had no problems , went right through it like it was butter. Tried using it to drive screws through 2x6s, I could not handle the power, this tool is not ideal for driving screws, there is no clutch settings like the cordless drills so basically i was guessing at the depth of my screws. I tried using it for my 3″ holesaw, too powerful for this also, have to watch the kickbacks when using it with a holesaw. This drill is ideal for drilling holes, mixing, or using with a wire brush, but anything else I would go with a cordless. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone that needs a lot of holes to drill, but to use just to drive screws, no.
