Powered by FUEL technology, the M28 FUEL 1-1/8 in. SDS Plus Rotary Hammer delivers faster than corded speed, corded durability and all day work on 1 charge. The Milwaukee POWERSTATE Brushless Motor Provides 3.5 ft. lbs. of impact energy, 0-1,350 RPM and 0-5,000 BPM. The Milwaukee M28 REDLITHIUM Battery Packs provide all day work on 1 charge, 20% more power and 50% more recharges than standard Lithium-Ion batteries. REDLINK PLUS Intelligence integrates full-circle communication between tool, battery and charger to protect from overloading, overheating and over-discharging. Milwaukee HAMMERVAC Dedicated Dust Extractor (2715-DE) features an inline dedicated design engineered to connect directly to and be power by either the M18 or M28 FUEL 1-1/8 in. SDS Plus Rotary Hammers (2715-22 or 0757-22). This design allows for a very compact HAMMERVAC and rotary hammer combination to fit in the most confined work spaces. Utilizing the same replaceable certified HEPA filter as other HAMMERVACS which filter 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3µm, means more compatibility on the jobsite. For accurate hole depths, this product is built with an adjustable depth stop and ruler for easy and precise adjustments. Featuring a high capacity dust box, users can now work longer without emptying dust box as often.

Worked just as advertised. Lots of power and very smooth operation. I would recommend this to anyone.

I’m a little disappointed Milwaukee took so long to come out with an 18v+ SDS+ Rotary Hammer, having just gotten their 18v which left me underwhelmed, and I’d been hoping they’d go with 18v + 18v — so I was expecting to be disappointed with just 10 extra volts, and the consequent voltage drain of the vacuum.I’m probably wrong on all three counts: the difference between the 18v and this 28v is astounding, but more to the point, this 28v works and works extremely well. I honestly couldn’t see a difference in power with and without the vacuum, which also works very well. And there are a few bells and whistles as well: it comes with a traditional depth stop, plus a shorter built-on stop with an embedded measuring tape. I didn’t realize until I received this unit that their SDS handles are fully adjustable and can be tightened down with zero slippage by turning the handle. The receiving electrical pins for the vacuum seem well protected if you use this without the vacuum, though again I can’t see a reason to use it solo. It’s not light, but then the 18v is disturbingly light and performs as expected. There’s a lot of mass smashed into a much smaller area around your fist, but I’d take heavy and works vs otherwise.I used a Bosh chisel and HF dirt cheap bits and chisels on this as well as the 18v — this thing just eats concrete with whatever you put in it. *This* is the Milwaukee I’ve loved for years.

I have to say this drill is a must have for anyone having to drill into concrete. I am finishing my basement and was using a standard electric drill with a concrete drill bit and was struggling to drill holes for furring strips. I’m talking blisters on my hands and the smell of the motor burning out on the drill. Rhe hammer drill goes through the wall like a hot knife through butter. Much less mess to thanks to the dust extractor. I wish I would have got it sooner!

This is truly the Rolls Royce in hammer drills as well as drilling. It begins at the battery which I’ve yet to deplete during use when fully charged. And it is of the highest intelligence as it communicates constantly with the tool. In short it calculates the load and provides the most efficient use of power possible. It is as powerful as the corded models minus the need for a cord or outlet. It is designed with the professional in mind yet is just as easy for a DIY person and homeowner. The list of features are impressive, I especially liked the depth gauge and dust extractor with filter so I’m not blowing particles of dust everywhere. As a pure hammer in hammer only operation it made short work of removing an old cemented in basketball pole I took out. I used a SDS 1/2 chisel tip also sold at The Home Depot and at first just worked around the edges of the concrete taking off smaller pieces quickly. You can judge when your pressing at the right force by watching how much you compress the bellows. The anti-vibration system limits the amount of wear and tear on the arms too. After a little while I started taking off larger and larger pieces. When I installed the pole some 20 years ago I used 160 lbs of concrete. I timed how long it took for me to hammer it into baseball size pieces and it was < 30 minutes of work. The adjustable handle made it easy to control with 2 hands as well as the variable smooth speed control. I had the dust extractor attached and the amount of chips left to clean up were minimal.Prior to hammering I "softened" the concrete up by drilling holes in it using the hammer drill function.I could not believe how easy it drill down 3 inches at a time. For comparison I tried the same with my old battery powered hammer drill which in its day was king and this new hammer drill was at least 3 times faster as well as far less effort. Although this tool was heavier but like I said it is a serious tool.I tried the drill only mode drilling through 5inch by 5 inch landscape timber with a 1/2 inch SDS bit. It made quick work out of drilling through it smoothly. I was happy about that as I plan on building a retaining wall so lots more drilling to come. You need to hold onto this tool firmly as it is very powerful and that handle really does the trick. The dust extractor worked perfectly which means it has to be emptied as it get full. I found that much easier than sweeping up a big mess. The manuals should be read and they are remarkably simple yet hit on all the operations, safety and use topics. It comes in a case with not much extra room left but does hold the tool and battery charger in place. You will not be disappointed with the performance of this tool set!
