This is one POWERFUL drill! I recently had a couple jobs around the house and my sons house and knew that my portable ⅜” drill would never be up to the job. This drill easily ran 6” lag bolts into pressure treated 4×4 wood while making an outdoor work bench and drilled through cement at my sons house for extra drainage like it was nothing, and it never worked up a sweat. Dependable power, when and where you need it. Great investment for the difficult jobs.

I used this drill for a bunch of very heavy duty drilling recently and it was fantastic. Ran it for about two hours with very little break time and it hardly got hot. (The bit I was using got extremely hot: there was a lot of forceful drilling!)If a potential customer needs a truly heavy duty drill to do BIG repetitive drilling that person would be well served getting this drill.

I’m a tool junkie. I’m constantly looking for the latest and greatest equipment to update my inventory. Lately, I’ve been handing-down a lot of my older stuff to my helper and acquiring Milwaukee branded replacements. I am truly impressed with the quality of their innovative power and hand tools. This 1/2 in. D-Handle drill is no exception. With a variable trigger speed control between 0-600 rpm the powerful 7 Amp Milwaukee built motor will lift you off your feet if you’re not paying attention. The drill ships with an 11 in. side handle that can be mounted right or left side. I recommend bracing the handle against the floor or wall before starting to drill. If the bit snags this will prevent the drill from twisting your wrists or even flying out of your hands. If you’ve ever damaged a tools power cord you’ll appreciate the 8 ft. removable cord on the unit. Simply plug it into the handle and give it a twist to lock it in place. The chuck key comes with a rubber holder to keep it from being misplaced. Milwaukee states capacity in wood: flat boring bit 1-1/2 in., hole saw 5 in., auger 1-1/2 in. and self-feed 3-5/8 in. This is a serious tradesman tool, you won’t be disappointed. Milwaukee offers a Potable Power Tool – Five (5) Year Limited Warranty

Right off the bat. This 1/2″ drill is not a toy. This is a serious, “get the job done” piece of equipment. The drill is a variable speed, 0 -600 RPM, D-handle work horse. The people at Milwaukee Tools have out done themselves with this one. The drill comes with an extended handle for a good reason. The drill has some serious torque. If you need to get the job done. This drill is for you.

After using the Milwaukee 1/2″ D-Handle Drill, I would recommend the product for heavy duty use. The drill performs very well through metal and concrete. The extended D-Handle offers control in potential binding situations, but if the drill does bind – it will move you. Safety is paramount in close quarters where a bind might pin an arm or hand. The drill’s construction is solid, as would be expected of an 1/2″ drill. And, the 0-600 variable speed allows the bit placement to be accurately started. While I have been only using the drill for a month, it does meet my expectations and earned a recommendation as a valuable shop tool.
