Professional grade light meant for extreme outdoor use in all types of weather. Quality construction including weather resistant battery compartment and dual lights. Easy to use hook for bucket hang which makes light very versatile. Light heads pivot to desired position and each adjust to desired type beam..low flood, high flood and spot. Truly puts out an amazing amount of light and with the included 9AH battery and rapid charger I have used for almost 2 hours on max. setting without stopping to recharge. Included backpack holds light and battery with charger to help protect while thrown in the bed of my truck. Word to the wise..do not mix chargers if you are like me and have other Milwaukee products, use the included rapid charger only on these 9AH batteries.

While I’m not a utility worker working in a bucket truck, I have been in many jobs that would have really benefited from this. This unit was purpose built for hanging on the bucket of a lineman’s bucket truck, working on high voltage wires during power outages, and I’m sure it would excel at that. The spring loaded handle does hold it tight in a bucket, I had a buddy of mine try it….that part is really cool. There are many applications for this light that you may not have considered. Having worked many jobs over the years that required checks on things in the complete darkness, or as a first responder to emergencies, you cannot discount the need for bright light that is waterproof, solid, sturdy, with a long discharge time, and the ability to switch batteries and keep going. This is designed for high output, with long output times. And you can swap batteries and get back online in seconds. The extra batteries are available and can be charged in the included charger, but the included charger also lets you charge the M12 Milwaukee batteries. Very cool. Did I mention the light temperature is not blue as many led lights provide? This is nearly true light, not yellow, not blue, but seems to be a true white light. The light heads have a spot light, and a flood light on each head. Each head can select flood, spot, or both, however both must be on or off at the same time and not just one. There is a single (and easy to find ) power button to turn the unit on or off. The point of this all on or all off function is to flood an area with light, and it does that without fail, which is why both are on or off. And with 4 hours of run time at full strength (floods and spots together) there is nothing more you could ask for. I tried this multiple times, and got a bit over 4 hours on spot and flood, and 6 hours on just floods. It was as advertised, and I’m excited. This light will become part of my life, ready for action, no matter what the situation. If you are a power lineman, thank you for doing what you do – and this light will likely work well for you. For everyone else, you’ll never find anything battery operated that can pump out this amount of light for the length of time it can do that, and then be able to swap batteries and keep the light running. Great job Milwaukee – you came through with your tools, and now this purpose built light that most everyone can find a use for!

I’m a painting contractor not a utility worker. This product was designed for working on power poles while on a lift in a bucket. That’s why its called a bucket light. It has a clamp on it so you can clamp it to the side of the bucket I clamp it to a ladder. It puts out an incredible amount of light. I do a lot of new construction and the only power we have on the job is a power pole in the back yard. So I have to run long extension cords through the house and plug in one of those huge halogen lights on a stand. Which get very hot and very bulky and take a lot of room in my truck. this is compact cordless and portable. The lights rotate so you can put the light where you need it. The three settings are great . Spotlight, low and high. I Was in a dark walk in closet the other day I adjusted the lights up and to the side and it lit the entire room without shinning in my eyes. I Let the hvac guy use it up in the attic to work on the heater. He loved it! It lit up his work area very well and no heat. the battery last forever. Great product!

This is the brightest, sturdiest and most weatherproof light that I have seen. The two lights have separate controls for different modes and the brightest mode is super bright. Both lights pivot in two directions. It comes with a battery and charger and the battery goes into a weatherproof compartment with a very sturdy latch and a rubber gasket to keep the elements out. As a bonus it comes with a very nice carrying case with a shoulder strap.

The M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless M18 Utility Bucket Light Kit with High Demand 9.0Ah Battery appears to be a must-have for anyone who has a bucket truck and works under poorly lit or dark conditions. The unit is well-designed to be used under harsh conditions. The battery is located in a weather-protected compartment. Each of the two lights rotates 180 degrees both vertically and horizontally and each may be controlled independently through three levels of light. It would be helpful at times if each light could be turned off individually to extend the battery run time. A spot light provides 800 lumens with 6 hours run time with the 9Ah 18-volt battery; a flood light provides 2500 lumens with 4 hours run time and a spot/flood provides 200 lumens (doesn’t seem accurate based on my observations) with 4 hours of run time. The spot light is capable of providing a beam of light to a distance of 500 yards; yes it does; I did not believe this at first so I had to test it. The spring release handle connects securely to the side of a bucket or to any substantial object less than 3.75″ in width. See photo. The light will also be valuable to any person or contractor who needs to work in poorly lit conditions. The light is somewhat heavy but compact so that it is easily portable. Since the light is cordless and the individual lights can be rotated, it may easily be placed wherever the light is needed. It doesn’t cast many shadows. I have already used it for working in my attic which has one fixed light socket which gives off way too much heat with either an incandescent, fluorescent, or LED bulb. This bucket light does not give off as much heat or at least it seems not to because it can be placed far away from the work area and still provide plenty of light. I have also used it for work in my crawl space. It provides wonderful light. Having good light makes the work go faster, easier, and proceed with fewer opportunities for errors. The light kit comes with a heavy duty nylon case which has both a shoulder and a handle strap. See photo. The case design is excellent for such an unusually shaped tool. It provides space for three batteries – one in the tool compartment and one on each side plus storage for a charger. See photo. With three batteries, the light will provide sufficient light for almost all situations. Frequent DIYers will find the light useful although its price may make it prohibitive for much of this market. The light has a 5-year warranty and the LED bulbs have a limited lifetime warranty. A few years ago when we hosted an outdoor back-to-school party, we really did not have sufficient lighting even though we used many light sources. This bucket light is amazing. It illuminates the entire back yard. It fits conveniently on a deck railing. See photo. With its many ways of rotating the individual lights, it can easily light a backyard of 100 ft. x 150 ft. With its versatility, one will surely find many more uses for it.
