I’m very happy with my purchase of the Milwaukee Laser Temperature Gun. It’s easy to use, and as of this date, trouble free. The feature I like the most is the easy to read screen on the back of this device. Another feature I like is the laser itself, which makes it easy to know where I’m actually getting the temperature reading from.

This is the Milwaukee IR 10:1 Thermometer. It measures surface temperatures of most all things, and is especially useful during maintenance and repairs of various building systems such as electrical panels, heating and air conditioning systems, water heating systems, plumbing systems and such. It can also be very helpful with vehicle maintenance such as checking temperatures of cooling systems and hoses.I tried it out on a variety of objects and used it to test the temperature of heating vents, cooling vents, radiator hoses, interior walls and hot water faucets. It has many more uses.It is easy to use, very intuitive, well-designed, and has enough features to cover most basic jobs. This particular unit is a 10:1 meaning the ratio of the distance to the spot you are measuring is 10 to 1. So at 3 feet away the spot you are measuring is 3.6 inches. At 5 feet away, the spot is 6 inches in diameter. The 10:1 unit is better suited to close-up measurements in inches as the ratios work better for inch measurements rather than feet. I would have preferred the 12:1 unit as the ratios work better with that unit in feet. While I found this thermometer to be very handy and useful, if you are using it in a professional or commercial environment, you may wish to upgrade to the 30:1 unit which gives you much more control of the area you are checking from a further distance. This is most helpful when you are checking temperatures of vents or pipes in high, hard-to-reach areas, and high ceilings.Overall, a good performer for close-up measuring and smaller jobs. Otherwise, step up to the 30:1 thermometer.

I bought this to monitor temperatures in our office suite. Too often folks would say they were warm or cold but that’s really subjective. We look to keep our office at 72 degrees in the summer and 74 degrees in the winter. This really works well for this use. No, it is not very accurate from 30 feet away. But it is very accurate at 4 feet or less (perhaps more). And it settles folks concerns. If we are at temperature and you are cold, put on a sweater. If you are hot, don’t wear all those layers. Great device. Battery life now over a year and counting.

We use it to check the temperature of the pizza stone in our pizza oven and it has worked out great. This is also very yseful for checking the temperature of any pan on top of a stove, grill or fire.

Seems to work as advertised, I haven’t really checked the accuracy with another unit since I don’t really have a good way to do that just yet.

Just good!

The product is great. Good quality, easy to use, but used in the capacity I needed it for it missed the mark. The manual states the device is good to within +- 2 degrees but checked against 3 separate state calibrated infared heat guns on asphalt it was 10 degrees off (reads colder) cold surface and 15-20 degrees off on high temp (reads higher) so for critical temp work I do not recommend this product. For a DIY instrument to verify an object is “Hot or cold”, it works.

I had a frozen copper water pipe in a cold attic, and was heating it with a hair dryer, to no avail. Bought this from HD after a quick look at the reviews. Back at home, I was able to tell immediately which was the coldest spot on the pipe (slightly below freezing according to the thermometer), which was only two feet away from my original try, and heat that particular spot. Within five minutes I had thawed the pipe.
