I use my driver to R&R covers on HVAC equipment. Way better than the mini-impacts that strip screws so easily. You could set this clutch to set a #4 screw just right in a pound of butter. The light is great in a dim equipment room, the “fuel guage” is a winner. The bit change is truly one-handed. The bit is locked with no trigger pull, so you can break loose the stubborn screws. Batteries charge quickly. Room in the soft case for a bit pack. My driver rides in my truck and because the batteries freeze when low on charge I tend to weaken them in a couple of winters. Get one of these and run your truck over your mini-impact a couple of times. I hate panels with stripped screws that come off after I leave site.

Today I find myself looking for a new 2401-20… I purchased the old one about 6-7 years ago, I believe it was the first generation, the new ones don’t look a lot different. I use this tool daily at my shop. I’ve beat on it, Use it as a torque wrench sometimes and it just never gave up as much heck as I put it thru. The rubber around it finally gave up a couple years ago, but the drill wouldn’t die…. Finally today after using it like a heavy ratchet, it started to smoke but still works! I think it’s about time to buy a new one! It was expensive 7 years ago, but it was the best $$ i’ve ever spent! Im a professional mechanic…I was truly USED!

You may forget how to use a regular screwdriver.Great torque for screwing or drilling. My only dig, the fwrd/rev button allows unintentional direction change if your not careful.

My first M12, I utilize my M18 tools all the time but wanted something a little smaller. I was definitely impressed with this. The first time I tried this out I brought along my M18 impact driver because I wasn’t sure It would be able to get the job done. This thing did everything I asked of it.

All round good to use. Lots of power in/out and for nut-size to 9/16″. Drill in most materials, but on steel, i’d stay pretty small. I love the clutch as it’s saved me many, many times. Charges last a surprisingly long time. I came from ni-cad then nmh drill/drivers and was incredibly impressed. Even let a senior woman use it who has never used a power tool… and she just said **** I can DO this!!! The light is great. I like it a LOT better then the new MW lights on the impact drivers. Been using this unit several times/week for nearly 5 years, and till now it’s been perfect. Using it in a monsoon rain, it got wet, the spring-release for the bit is now dead & I have to release, then pull the bit out. Too bad, I dried & oiled it when I got home from a job but it won’t pop the bit out any longer. If I have any criticism… Put the forward/reverse switch as a slide on the top or as a lever on the trigger. This was not cheap, but one of the best value purchases I’ve made in 54 years of tool-buying (since age 10). I went to buy one as a gift for my lady friend, couldn’t find it so bought a drill/driver combo. The driver is impact type and no where as handy. She’ll likely stick with using the drill which does have the clutch. Recommended tool.
