The 12 volt hammer drill is lighter than my 18 volt hammer drill but does a great job drilling holes for plastic anchors.

This is my best overall choice in a cordless drill / driver for several reasons:The chuck is good! All metal, Will grab bits as small as 1/16th” securely and has very little wobble. The LED light is decent, not shadow free like drills with three lights, but still adequate for most jobs. The light is bright enough I can use it to see inside the tool box to find the right size bit, so I don’t need to grab a separate light. Just touch the switch briefly, the light stays on for a few seconds and that’s long enough to get the bit. Very convenient and fast! The handle is comfortable, has good grip for excellent aim and control, and doesn’t suck heat from my hands on cold days. The small size and low-weight are great! I seldom need the higher power drills or drivers for repair, assembly, or medium scale building projects, so this is plenty of power but with less weight.Because it has three functions ( Drill / driving / hammer drill) this is a good choice for those who must travel light with only ONE drill. Since the batteries are compact, that saves some weight and space too. The same tool will conquer concrete, drive 3-inch construction screws and gently drive brass screws for small hinges without destroying them. The belt clip actually works! It’s easy enough to place on my belt, but the tool is light enough it doesn’t rip a pocket on jeans if you choose to put it there. That means no special drill holster is needed; again, saving space and weight. I climb ladders with this on my belt and have never had it even hint at falling.I searched and studied long and hard before going with Milwaukee brand cordless tools. I compared weight, size, torque, battery life, chucks… everything. And I didn’t just read a few specs and believe them. I bought several brands including those uber expensive teutonic tools and tested them for comparison. This weighs just a few ounces more than the high-priced German tools, but has equal or better power and is one third the cost.I am not denigrating other brands because I have them and like them too! But those mostly stay in the shop. For my compact bare-bones traveling tool kit, I choose this first. With the features, best-in-class batteries, small size and weight, three functions, more than adequate power… this is my go to choice for the ONE drill that does it all quite well.Whenever I have to repair heavy machinery, farm equipment or old rusty stuff, THEN I’ll carry the heavy artillery of the M20 line. But for 95% of the small jobs and projects I do, this little dude is perfect. The strategy of carrying less to do more has saved me money because I don’t need two or three extra tool bags, and it’s saves my back from aching at the end of a day. This, plus the bits of your choice for your work will get most jobs done, and you don’t have to carry too much. For homeowners and DIY fans, this is the ideal single drill driver. Even grumpy old pros (like me) benefit from using ONE tool that does several jobs well.Highly recommended as the single best overall drill for value, versatility and quality.

This drill is GREAT. Took it on a missionary project overseas and used (abused) the heck out of it. Drilling, screwing etc. Used it to drill through 16″ thich very hard concrete. Could not beleive how well it held up. Never over heated and did a great job.

I’ve been very happy with all of my M12 series Power Tools. Great power decent battery life with the larger battery and extremely well-built durable and reliable. Most importantly the tools are perfect size to be very maneuverable and easy to handle. The 18 volt tools might might have higher capacity, but mostly is overkill and unnecessary the 12-volt series are perfect for my use, which is somewhere in between normal home use and contractor level use.

This is my second Milwaukee drill and it is great. The drill is lite in the hand, runs fairly long considering the size of the battery and recharges fast. It’s not made for the bigger jobs but the flip of switch you have a hammer drill, standard drill. I have the impact drill also and it has been working great for a long time. I will now be buying Milwaukee from now on.

Replacement for well used 6 year old Milwaukee hammer drill that quit working. New tool cost the same as repair. Easy decision. Works as advertised. Love these tools!
