The Milwaukee M12 HACKZALL Recip Saw Kit features a compact and lightweight design providing users with superior control and versatility in tight spaces. The cordless reciprocating saw is only 11” and 2.6 lbs and is designed to give users the best cuts in tight spaces. A powerful motor delivers 0-3,000 strokes per minute and a 1/2” stroke length allows users to quickly cut through a wide range of material such as drywall, wood, and PVC. The variable speed trigger provides users with maximum cut control while the QUIK-LOK blade clamp allows users to perform fast and easy blade changes. In addition to the cordless HACKZALL, the kit includes two M12 REDLITHIUM Batteries, an M12 charger, and a carry case.

I bought this set while it was on sale and feel it offers a great value for your dollar. I already own multiple Milwaukee drivers, but love how compact and powerful these are, so I generally keep one in different areas of the house, shed, garage so that they are handy when the need arises. I also love that this kit comes with 2 batteries, as you can never have enough M12 batteries laying around. The saw works great and has come in handy on multiple occasions. I’ve used it to cut up a pallet into more usable pieces of wood. I’ve also used it to help cut up cardboard for recycling. We bought a new house about 2 years ago and as we bought new things for the home, the cardboard packaging from everything really started to pile up. I used this saw to break down the larger boxes and flatten everything into bundles to put out for recycling. Small jobs, medium size jobs… this is a great homeowner tool. If you work in daily construction, you’ll probably want something a little bigger and more powerful.

I bought this reciprocating saw to chop some downed limbs in my yard to make them small enough to fit in my fire pit. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. The tool itself seemed to function just fine, but the blades that were included wouldn’t even cut limbs that were 2-3 in around. If the blades were the only problem, it could’ve been easily remedied with a set of better blades, but it wasn’t. The blade-release collar kept getting stuck when I would try to switch out the blades. When I was trying to switch out the blades I had to remove the battery beforehand because the trigger lock was very close to the trigger and main body of the saw, which is where you’d hold the saw while removing the blade, and the trigger lock is very easy to hit by accident; I had read the information about the trigger lock in another review, but assumed the individual was just being picky. (that’ll teach me).

I needed a smaller saw than my full sized Sawzall and this looked good, also a promo price so I bit.Totally did the job I had in mind and I’ve used it since. The battery goes down if used heavily after a while but long enough to get you through most jobs.. I’d recommend using gloves as the grip is comfortable but will give you a blister on your knuckle if held with pressure.. I’m a righty and my pointer finger at the joint got a bit sore.. 2nd time used.. no problem with standard work gloves.
