The Milwaukee M12 Plastic Pipe Shear Kit with the powerful M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion battery included can slice through 2 in. schedule 80 PVC in just 3 seconds. The pipe shear kit is compatible with M12 lithium-ion batteries, giving users more than 200 cuts on a single charge. The stainless steel blade and aluminum jaw are impact and water and rust resistant. The ultra- sharp M12 plastic pipe shear with pierce point makes burr-free cuts, allowing users to cut faster, cleaner and closer than traditional shears. PVC close to a wall or mounted to a stud is no challenge for the quick-return, offset blade for maximum efficiency on repetitive cuts. The plastic pipe shear features a variable speed trigger for controlled cuts in warm and cold weather and an on-board fuel gauge that displays remaining battery charge and run time provide users with superior versatility and productivity. I bought this set while it was on sale and feel it offers a great value for your dollar. I already own multiple Milwaukee drivers, but love how compact and powerful these are, so I generally keep one in different areas of the house, shed, garage so that they are handy when the need arises. I also love that this kit comes with 2 batteries, as you can never have enough M12 batteries laying around. The saw works great and has come in handy on multiple occasions. I’ve used it to cut up a pallet into more usable pieces of wood. I’ve also used it to help cut up cardboard for recycling. We bought a new house about 2 years ago and as we bought new things for the home, the cardboard packaging from everything really started to pile up. I used this saw to break down the larger boxes and flatten everything into bundles to put out for recycling. Small jobs, medium size jobs… this is a great homeowner tool. If you work in daily construction, you’ll probably want something a little bigger and more powerful.

I go thru a condensate line installation (sch40 pvc) like butter with the cutter and even on a complete line to install a cleanout valve, the time is cut by 3/4, and the Hackzall is a super bonus, i use it for so many things, just bought the scraper attachment for it.

Get the fuel or get a sawzall. There’s no orbital motion to the blade, just straight in straight out. That combine with a decent but rather mediocre motor and 12v battery, doesn’t exactly say contractor use to me. It’s fine for some light pruning around the yard or maybe cutting pvc/abs pipes, but it is pretty light weight for demo or cutting most wood. So it’s uses are limited. No major complaints, but I also set expectations low coming into owning this tool. Its a nice small saw, but it’s exactly that, a small saw.
