I am switching almost all of my air tools to the M12 version they are small and powerful no longer is 12volt versions weak. I am a pro that no longer buys air tools.

Very versatile tool. You an easily cut, polish, sand, remove rust, and more with this one tool. Since it is a right angle die grinder, it is very easy to apply even and consider pressure upon the surface. With a normal die grinder, you have to balance the weight of the tool more than this one. The pistol style grip and rubber coating make it very comfortable in the hand. The best part of all? No hoses to get in the way or compressor.

Have 3 of these along with the straight die grinder. I have them so I don’t have to keep switching out and keep an abrasive 3m disc on one, a sanding disc and cut off wheel on the others. With the larger capacity batteries they stand up right on your tool bench with very good stability making them easy to grab and use. The multiple speed settings are useful and the variable speed trigger is an exceptional feature. However, these are LIGHT duty tools. On all 4 of them (and three others I used to have) if you apply moderate to heavy pressure or use them for longer than a couple minutes the motor overloads and turns off even though it’s not overheated. (Exceedingly annoying) It stays in this mode and cuts off each time you try to use it again. I have found that if you take the battery out and put it back in it resets the motor and will work again until you apply too much pressure. Not surprising for a small cordless tool but I really wish they would have spent a little more time in research and development. It’s an expensive single tool only and should perform a little better. But, having said all that, understanding the limitations, it is a fantastic tool for light duty work and most small jobs I do in the shop. For work that requires longer use or applying moderate to heavy pressure or using a cutoff wheel for extended periods or any attachment that is heavy like a larger wire wheel I keep an air die grinder handy. Specifically, the Ingersoll Rand S102Max. It has a quick connect feature and is a monster when doing heavy jobs. I highly recommend having one close by. Also, I will note that Milwaukee has an 1/8” collet you can use on these for use with Dremel size bits. I have found this to be very useful on the straight die grinder. My Dremel just collects dust now.

Love the fact that I don’t need a air hose. Powerful and does the job as good or better than the air tool

Tool is great. Nice not having to crank an air compressor just to use a die grinder.

I bought this angle grinder for use in my personal garage. It’s an addition to my ever growing 12volt collection. So far I’ve been very impressed with the tools performance. It’s has more power than my air one by far, and way easier to use with the four speed adjustments options. I’ve used it to sharpen my axes, mower blades, and grind on rocks in my collection. I’ve never come close to using a whole battery when using the angle grinder. Great tool! Thanks Milwaukee!!

I’ve been using the same air powered right angle die grinder for 15 years. It’s noisy, vibrates and requires greasing and piling to keep it happy. The air hose is not always a problem but when you’re jammed into a tight engine bay trying to clean something it does become a problem. I had been eyeballing this unit from Milwaukee for a while and finally bought it about a month ago.Right away I enjoyed the choice of 4 maximum speeds. Selecting a maximum speed for the cleaning attachment has resulted in faster cleaning and less trigger manipulation. It also has prolonged the life of my surface conditioning discs (cookies). My employer will enjoy that. Cranking up the max RPM for a deburring carbide bit gives nice consistent results and keeps the carbide clean because you can keep the speed up and not clog the tool. It also works really well with a soft disc for gently cleaning aluminum surfaces.I’ve used M12 XC3.0 batteries with it and the battery life is acceptable. I can clean up multiple hubs for multiple brake jobs without changing batteries. While lots of dust will always be created doing these jobs, not having an air outlet pointed at the work surface is helpful. You don’t end up with an enormous dust cloud – only a small one.The light shining at the works surface is helpful in dark areas. The tool is not too heavy. Overall it’s a great product I should’ve bought sooner!

Purchased this tool for everyday shop use in a motorsports shop. Great for cleaning up gasket surfaces, sanding small areas for welding. Not quite a complete replacement for air powered die grinder, but I sure don’t use my air powered half as much as I used to.

This thing is great for taking around the shop without an air hose for random tasks. It has plenty of speed and power, but it goes through batteries way faster than any of my other Milwaukee tools.

Excellent power to weight ratio. You don’t need to drag around a air hose. Use this tool for mechanic work, autobody, and even home improvement.

Used to grind fiberglass in surfboard manufacturing. Goes through the smaller batteries rather fast. Seems to over heat and shut off intermittently, but nothing I can work through. Haven’t used the larger m12 battery yet

I use the grinder for tight locations and gasket prep, I like the speed control, I find the handle to be a bit large especially when wearing gloves other wise great tool
