The drill and driver are pretty standard so no complaints there. For their size they are both pretty powerful for just 12 volts. The ratchet is a welcome addition since I’ve wanted one for a while now. The hackzall is the wild card in this setup. When I first used it I was kind of disappointed because I thought it cut poorly. However, with some practice it cuts pretty darn good. As long as you hold the saw tight against the item you are cutting it zips through. This is a pretty good value with 4 tools, 2 batteries, and a charger.

I thought the battery in the kit could have been the 6amp vs 1.5amp but for DYI mechanic that I am, the items are great. This is a great combination of tools for the price – 199 in my case. My purchase was driven by my desire to get the 3/8 ratchet, but I have found uses for all of these, even though I have other, similar tools. The bottom line is that bigger is not always better. For most uses, the smaller, lighter tool is gets the job done and is less of a hassle to deal with. I thought long and hard about what brand to choose for my next generation of battery powered tools, as I want to stick with one system. I was amazed at all the tools you can plug these batteries into. The ratchet is everything I hoped it would be. It easily installs or removes nuts and bolts without the hassle of pulling out the air ratchet or having to wrench it back and forth. Unless I find a fault that has thus far eluded me, I will be sticking with Milwaukee.
