Bought this based on reviews. Yes this saw does do a decent job on 2x’s but it did slow down a bit as well. It didn’t so well on plywood. Kept getting stuck mid cut and kept having to back out. Maybe the M18 would do a little better.

You unbox it, throw a battery in, pull the trigger, and it sounds like it’s going to struggle.But then you go to cut something, and struggle it does not. This this is an absolute beast. Far more powerful and efficient than expected. The Left-side blade is great for visibility.

Milwaukee claims up to 170 cuts from a battery so I put it to the test. With a fully charged 4AH battery and a 2×4 piece of pine I got 207 cuts before the battery flashed near empty. The cuts were easy and smooth. I used the Milwaukee Carbide blade that came with the saw. The base plate is flat as I checked the cut and found less than 1/32 inch difference from top of cut to bottom. The saw is solid and feels good in the hand. I was a little concerned about the blade guard having what I thought was excessive side movement, but it worked flawlessly and didn’t have a problem directing most of the sawdust down. This is my third Milwaukee M12 Fuel tool and it doesn’t disappoint.
