The Milwaukee M12 FUEL SURGE 1/4 in. Hex Hydraulic Driver is the industry’s first 12-Volt hydraulic impact driver. Featuring the FLUID-DRIVE Hydraulic Powertrain, the hydraulic impact will allow users to experience operation up to 2X quieter with less vibration for smoother and faster driving speeds compared to standard impacts. The compact size of the tool and battery provides users with unmatched access in tight spaces and allows for easy transport on a tool belt and easy fitting into a job site tool bag. Performance is not sacrificed despite lower peak torque due to its Longer Sustained Torque that allows the tool to complete core users most common applications. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 0 RPM to 3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. Built-in REDLINK PLUS Intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the user’s tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. Cordless HACKZALL Reciprocating Saw features a compact and lightweight design for superior control and versatility in tight spaces. The saw is equipped with a powerful motor that delivers up to 3000 SPM and a 1/2 in. stroke length for fast cutting. You can use this saw to cut through a wide range of material, such as drywall, wood and PVC.

This is the 1st impact driver I have had. I have always used drills for driving screws. I framed a workshop with screws and will probably never use a standard drill to drive more than 3 screws again. This thing is light, battery life is great and it makes driving screws easy on the body and drastically reduces stripped screws. Love it!! Can not believe I went so long not realizing the greatness of an impact driver.

It has great luminance and has durable construction. A product for many applications. The investment requires a sepaaate battery charger that can be used on othe Milwaukee products. Something I was not aware of until purchase.

Would definitely recommend this tool. Quieter than other impact drivers and having multi level power settings is a game changer.

If you are deciding whether or not this will be the perfect all around light for you, get it. The magnet is extremely useful and the light is extremely bright.

I’ve been using this at work for a few weeks now and even the small batteries will last me most of a day driving 3″ in soft woods. Is it the most powerful tool on the planet, no but it gets the job done and my bags appreciate the smaller form factor and the lower weight. Its also gotten the attention of my coworkers for its quiet operation.

I have been a Milwaukee M12/M18 Fuel user for a few years now. I was installing some Sail Shades, and driving 1-1/2″ #10 screws into wood. The M18 Fuel Impact I was using was LOUD, since I was right at the roof line, and the echo was pretty deafening. After considering both the M12 and M18 Surge, I decided on the M12, since it’s slightly smaller, and both have the same 450 IN-LB of torque.I have used the new M12 Surge Impact for a lot of projects since: 1) two ceiling fans, 2) recovering some porch chairs (removing the seat from the frame), 3) removing cabinet doors to install a new bathroom faucet, 4) install curtain rods, 5) install a shower grab rail. The most impressive feature to me are the very low torque on setting #1, it is way more controllable than my old M12 Fuel impact.Other Milwaukee Tools I own and love: M18 5-inch grinder, M18 6-1/2 saw, M12 Fuel Hackall, M12 Jigsaw.

Super strong and speedy. Extremely low vibration. I actually can’t believe how good this really is. Well worth the money as long as it lasts.

The surge is a quiet compact impact. If I had to complain it would be to improve the led light to a 3 light. For dark areas you have a shadow right on top of your target.

The Good:I purchased this online as a kit a little more than a year ago and I absolutely love it! this is hands-down way better than Milwaukee’s Fuel M12 impact, which i own. I use it for doing HVAC work hanging ductwork. this is by far the best compact impact you can buy.The Bad:1- I now have two batteries that are going bad. after doing some online research there seems to be some issues with the contact points between the batteries and the impact itself. I always let the batteries run out before I charge them, and I never charge them using a generator. 2- my second issue, is the LED battery indicator lights on the side of the impact are almost nonexistent now. it’s getting extremely difficult to tell what the battery level is.overall would I recommend this to somebody else? Yes. I know the batteries are expensive to replace those and even with the LED indicator lights not working this is still a phenomenal impact.

This hydraulic driver is so much quieter than Milwaukee’s standard impact driver! I enjoy using it

This was a gift for my husband. He loved it, said it was very functional

This is my go-to impact driver now. I switched from the traditional 18v, the smaller size is much more versatile, and the reduced noise was another selling feature.
