I don’t really do much automotive or mechanic work, but I might have to start after using this M12 1/4″ impact wrench kit. It’s very powerful for its size, I didn’t expect much but it blew through rusted nuts and bolts like they were hardly there, something my impact driver might have an issue with. I’m very eager to try it out on wood and structural screws at work. 100 ft pounds feels like plenty to me for general use, though I’m not an engineer. Besides the fact that it’s Milwaukee, a company whose products I love, I like the overall size and weight which is easy to move around and get into tricky places. It comes with a nice bag and two different sized batteries for different uses. Unless you simply need something larger I’d say this is the cordless stubby impact driver for you. My only recommendation is (and don’t do what I did and use a ratchet set) get a quality impact-rated socket set There’s really a lot of things you can do with this stubby wrench without needing a corded or air impact gun. I suppose it’s worth its weight in gold if you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere, i.e. offroading and trying to do repairs.

I kind of feel sorry for my compressor, I only use it to fill tires and pool toys now. I have pretty much switched to Milwaukee tools for all of my fastener removal and tightening for my race car, work trucks and equipment. They make them small enough to fit in tight spaces and have enough power to do the job or turn them down if you are working on something that is delicate. Not dragging and tripping over the air hose is nice, not to mention having to account for the hose making it hard to position the tool correctly. I have these in most of the sizes available and can just put the correct socket on each one and just quickly switch tools instead of stopping to switch sockets. It has saved me quite a bit of time.

I have to say, I love how compact this ¼” stubby impact wrench is! I had to remove rusted-on bolts to my wheel speed sensors on my 15-year old vehicle. I slapped on an impact socket and the rusted bolt never stood a chance. My other wrench was just too large to fit in that space! Press the trigger and the on board fuel gauge lights from one, up to four lights, letting you know how much capacity is left. The LED light is super bright and allows me to see what I am working on with ease. The belt clip is a nice touch – heck, this thing is so small that it fit in the chest pocket of my jacket (see picture below). The rubber stops on each side do a great job of preventing the tool from slipping on slick surfaces. When you let go of the trigger, the electric brake stops the tool instantly. The 4-mode drive control varies RPM ranges from 1300, 1900, 3200, and auto shutoff mode to prevent over fastening. I can tell lots of thought went into making this tool! I now carry it with me everywhere I go. The case is well made with plenty of space to store the charger and XC4.0 battery.

This is another great tool from the people at Milwaukee. This stubby impact wrench comes with everything to get started right out of the box. I really like the push button drive control to access the 4 modes which include a auto shut off to avoid over fastening. This is compact at a little over 5″ high so it will fit in small tight spaces. The 1/4 inch friction ring is designed to be used for quick changing of impact sockets and not regular sockets. A nice tool for the DIYer or professional.

The M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Stubby 1/4 in. Impact Wrench Kit with One 4.0 and One 2.0Ah Batteries kit is great. Milwaukee tools are built to hold up and last. This is one best 12 volt tools made. It is great to use and I can into tight areas easily. The total kit is great as you have everything you need. I use it for all my do it yourself projects around my house. I really like the new fuel tool line and love using the.

This review is for Milwaukee Tool product 2552-22, 1/4-inch Stubby Impact Wrench Kit. This kit includes a zippered carrying bag of tough woven synthetic fabric, impact wrench, M12 battery charger, compact 2.0 amp-hour M12 Red Lithium battery, XC 4.0 amp-hour M12 Red Lithium battery and operator’s manuals. The impact wrench has a split-ring chuck and is driven by an efficient and quiet brushless motor. It weighs a light 2.0 lbs. with the 2.0 amp-hour battery and 2.5 lbs. with the 4.0 amp-hour battery. The drive is nicely angled from the soft-grip handle to facilitate comfort during use. With either battery installed, this wrench is less than 8 inches tall. Not having had a 1/4-inch impact wrench before, I purchased a 48-socket set to accommodate use of this tool, using it to assemble an aluminum hand truck and to replace rubber paddles for two snow blowers. It worked well for all of the disassembly, reassembly and assembly work. For the assembly and reassembly work, I used the auto-shutoff mode. That mode uses electronic control to prevent over-driven and stripped small fasteners. Because of the small size of this tool, access to remove the rubber snow blower paddles was very good. I would not have otherwise even attempted using an impact wrench to do this work. This tool is low-noise so that hearing protection is not needed. The wrench includes a 5-year limited warranty. This is another much-appreciated and innovative addition to my Milwaukee Tool product workshop. I suggest that the handyman purchasing this tool consider The Home Depot for purchase of a good 1/4-inch, six-point socket set. I purchased their Internet No. 3003158458 set, finding it a good value.

This impact wrench kit has everything you need to get started with a handful of powerful impacting torque in a convenient cordless package. The M12 wrench is lightweight and well balanced. The tote provided is ingenious and easily stowed in tight spaces. I’m considering hiding this in one of the under-seat storage wells in my truck for vacation, excursion, camping runs when I may just have to effect some repair or pitch in to a family project. M12 batteries are now available in 1.5, 2, 3 ampere-hours (compact size) through 4 and 6 ampere-hours standard sizes. The compact versions are so convenient they appear to be only extensions of the tool handle. So, one can elect their reduced run-time for the added accessibility they afford. Note, too, that the M12 compact batteries are used in Milwaukee heated work gear. Hence, additional of these stored in my truck (along with a charger and the now common 120 VAC inverter receptacle in many trucks) adds to my preparedness for extended outdoor work or (some) stranded vehicle scenarios. Changing tool speed range is a two-handed operation – but it’s only effortless button-pushing. The impact wrench has three variable speed settings. Each speed range also selects a proportional range of impact rate. So, one has trigger sensitivity at each setting. Setting #4 is a ‘self-tapping’ mode that gives you the full range of both speed and impact rate from zero to maximum tool capacity (100 inch-pounds). Thus, it is easy to find the optimum operation for repetitive work. When uncertain, I often start with #4 and then “dial it in”; much like one does with a VOM.I, for one, am not crazy about the ambidextrous belt hook – but, of course, it is removable. The slider button for reverse is as you’d expect. The gun has a comfortable ergonomic grip with lots of bearing area which positions one’s trigger finger in just the right place. This produces less hand fatigue than others I’ve experienced. Having as dedicated charger in the kit is quite an asset. Although it serves but one battery, it is from the smart Milwaukee charger line than does not create a buildup of battery-destroying hysteresis – and, thus, allows you to recharge partially depleted batteries without concern. A set of LED indicators on the charger informs you about battery status and progress. On the other hand, the Fuel Gauge (on the tool) is just (redundant) hype – as by the time it flickers, the tool likely already has run down in use.Net and sum; this is a great tool horde asset. I’ve accumulated lots of powerful, reliable (but bulky and heavy) tools only to mature and realize that more agile tools help get the job done better and quicker with less user fatigue. Milwaukee fills that bill well with this kit – It’s small but robust enough to compete with less portable impact wrenches.

Time saver for interior and exterior trim work on cars. Not sure if I got a defective friction ring, but used it with chrome and impact sockets and it’s completely useless on my anvil. That being said, still a big fan of this 1/4 impact.

Milwaukee strong. Yet another mighty tool from Milwaukee. Very compact which makes it easy to get into small or tight spaces. Different size/power battery options to meet your needs. A small 2.0Ah for small places or a bigger 4.0Ah for more longer power for bigger jobs. Very powerful with 4 different speed options makes your job easier. The integrated light really helps in those low light situations. Overall this is a great little wrench and I highly recommend it. First thing I used it for was to install the coasters on the Milwaukee 46″ tool chest.

It’s awesome! Fits into tight spaces! very strong! I feel in love with this tool when I was able to use it to remove a 10mm nut from behind a tire without having to remove the wheel. It is very compact! It seems really strong – way stronger than you should need for a 1/4″-drive size tool. You get the impact driver, a 2AH battery, a 4AH battery, a charger, and a nice zippered fabric storage bag.The best feature is the “4-mode drive control” – the dial on the top that lets you control how hard the tool works – should help eliminate broken bolts. The dial has four settings – a circular arrow and then the numbers 1, 2 and 3. The circular arrow is the “auto shut off mode” which most people will want – it shuts off once full torque is reached to reduce the chance of breaking something. It says it will “drive forward at a reduced RPM until the torque is achieved. In reverse the tool will operate at full RPM to remove fasteners at full torque.” The other settings (1, 2, 3) are speed controls. 1 is slower, both in RPM and impacts, 2 is medium, and 3 is the fastest. It has four red LED’s on the side to show you how much charge is left, and a work light. The belt clip can be reversed for left or right side use. Two things I would like to see included – a square to hex adapter so you can use it for impact driving hex bits. The adapters are available online or you can use a 1/4″ six-point socket in a pinch. And I sometimes will 3D print a bit holder that fits in the unused belt clip mounting point.

I have a larger impact wrench by Milwaukee that has been working great. My only problem is that some of the work I do is on small motors and machines. This tool gets in places the other doesn’t. It has great torque that the Milwaukee tools have always given me. It also has no cord or air line to drag around. The battery has lasted longer before recharging, than the jobs I do. This is a tool I will be using a lot.
