Great in theory. A bit underpowered, but works well after the nut is initially broken loose. Works well to set the nut. Recommend using a standard ratchet to lock it in.

First, I’m a big fan of the Milwaukee tools M-12 and M-18 Fuel tools. This one is similar to the others but not as user friendly. At 40 pounds, it has plenty pf torque. I was impressed to see it can be used as a manual ratchet, not just powered. If a fastener is tightened too much for the battery to loosen it, I use the ratchet as a breaker bar. It has plenty of length and weight for that. On that note, it’s too heavy and too long for a 1/4″ drive ratchet. It’s great that the head has a low profile. That allows it to reach in tighter spaces. Even with that, it’s very heavy.It’s great that it gives me an option to use instead of an air ratchet but my air ratchet is lighter and smaller. It does have some great features. The LED light that stays on for a few seconds helps. The lock switch is a great idea but I can still get it to work very slowly while the lock is engaged. That’s the plastic parts I fear will break easily. It also has the battery status display. The recessed direction switch is recessed a bit too far. It’s hard to get big fingers in there to switch it. The battery is difficult to remove but as with my other Fuel tools, it gets better with time. It would be much better if it weren’t a single speed too. Overall, I’m not a fan. The weight, bulk, length, difficulty in switching directions, single speed, plastic parts and price are enough to steer me away from this one.

I watched a mechanic friend do an automatic transmission service with one of these and knew I had to have one. This is my new favorite tool. I have an air ratchet that has a little more torque than the Milwaukee but not having to drag an airline around with the tool more than makes up for any short comings. Just being a Milwaukee tool lets you know this is a quality piece and it is. The extended reach neck is a plus for getting into tight spots and the fact that it will lock down so you can manually ratchet it another plus over my air ratchet. The M12 battery life is very good only thing I would like to add is a spare battery for when it does finally loose it’s charge which will probably be when I need the tool most. It comes with it’s own carrying case but mine doesn’t spend much time there. It also comes with the MIlwaukee 5 Year warranty on the tool and 2 years on the battery.I highly recommend this tool.

This is a great tool to have I own the regular sized 1/4 inch ratchet and love it but the extended reach just makes it that much better, more power ,stronger .I am a master mechanic in a busy dealership have always used snap on tools but I have been switching over to Milwaukee tools the last few years for as good if not better of a tool for a fraction of the price .I recommend this tool and in the near future will be getting the 3/8 version you cant go wrong !!!

What an amazing tool. Only flaw is little too much torque, Easily will rip your wrist at full trigger squeeze, haaha. Needs a hand tight feature like other power tools. But given so many good things about this tool, it deserves 5 stars. Would also be so legit to see this exact tool with flex head somehow, keep up the innovation milwaukee!

Powerful Time SaverI was skeptical of the need and usefulness of a powered ¼” ratchet. I’m now a believer and going to keep this in my main tool bag, despite its size. Milwaukee has done a nice job creating a large ecosystem of cordless power tools that share their “M12 Fuel” system. I’ve got a few and the M12 lithium batteries are interchangeable.This tool has an LED light to help illuminate the work, it reserves just like a standard ratchet, has a low-profile head to enable it to get into tight spaces and has a good length. The provides a surprisingly good amount of torque too, it’s not a replacement for an impact wrench, but provides plenty as a ratchet.The tool provides a quick way to tighten or loosen fasteners, a lot faster than the traditional time saver; a regular ratchet, which makes it 100 times better than a regular wrench.It comes with a battery and charger, the case it came in was defective, the handle was only stitched on one side. Not a big deal for me as it’s going in my tool bag. It’s a little heavy but well balanced and it’s a pricey addition to your tool box, but if you work a lot with nuts and bolts, this tool is a real time saver!
