The Milwaukee Metric Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set may seem a bit pricey, but this heavy-duty set is worth it. Each piece is well made, hefty, and clearly marked as to what metric size it is. The jaw end has a kind of unique cut that directly fits the nuts, giving you more power to tighten/loosen them. The ratcheting part requires a very small arc swing, which means easier work in small spaces and more power in larger spaces. This is a set that you invest in for the long haul, and Milwaukee offers a lifetime warranty to back up your purchase. Very impressive.

Powerful Time SaverI was skeptical of the need and usefulness of a powered ¼” ratchet. I’m now a believer and going to keep this in my main tool bag, despite its size. Milwaukee has done a nice job creating a large ecosystem of cordless power tools that share their “M12 Fuel” system. I’ve got a few and the M12 lithium batteries are interchangeable. This tool has an LED light to help illuminate the work, it reserves just like a standard ratchet, has a low-profile head to enable it to get into tight spaces and has a good length. The provides a surprisingly good amount of torque too, it’s not a replacement for an impact wrench, but provides plenty as a ratchet. The tool provides a quick way to tighten or loosen fasteners, a lot faster than the traditional time saver; a regular ratchet, which makes it 100 times better than a regular wrench. It comes with a battery and charger, the case it came in was defective, the handle was only stitched on one side. Not a big deal for me as it’s going in my tool bag. It’s a little heavy but well balanced and it’s a pricey addition to your tool box, but if you work a lot with nuts and bolts, this tool is a real time saver!

These wrenches are excellent tools. I’ve been using them for a couple of months. The quality is top-notch and the combination of open-end wrench and ratcheting functionality is very useful to me. The grip on the wrenches is surprisingly comfortable. All-in-all a well-designed and manufactured tool. The “Max bite” grip on the open-end dramatically improves the wrench’s grip on small nuts and bolts. When small fasteners are torqued on tight, I sometimes have difficulty getting them loose without rounding off the points on the hex heads. The max bite really increases the probability that I can get the nut loose without damaging the heads. The wrenches come in a very useful carrying case. I put mine in one of the drawers (22.25 wide x 16.75 deep) in my toolbox and it fits perfectly with the companion case for the SAE set (see photo).

Top quality tools. Have used Craftsman wrenches for 40 years and these are far, far superior.

I watched a mechanic friend do an automatic transmission service with one of these and knew I had to have one. This is my new favorite tool. I have an air ratchet that has a little more torque than the Milwaukee but not having to drag an airline around with the tool more than makes up for any short comings. Just being a Milwaukee tool lets you know this is a quality piece and it is. The extended reach neck is a plus for getting into tight spots and the fact that it will lock down so you can manually ratchet it another plus over my air ratchet. The M12 battery life is very good only thing I would like to add is a spare battery for when it does finally loose it’s charge which will probably be when I need the tool most. It comes with it’s own carrying case but mine doesn’t spend much time there. It also comes with the MIlwaukee 5 Year warranty on the tool and 2 years on the battery.I highly recommend this tool.

This Milwaukee 15-piece ratcheting combination wrench set is a great addition to my toolbox. These are definitely pretty beefy wrenches (see pic comparing one to it’s same size non-ratcheting Mac counterpart), which is both good and bad – good because I want them to hold up to all sorts of abuse, less good because I do want them to be as light and comfortable as possible while holding up to abuse. My first real test of these wrenches came on a particularly rusty brake-and-rotor-replace job, they held up fine. My only regret is not ordering the matching SAE set.

This is my new favorite tool in my tool box. I really like the extra length and the amount of power it has. I have a adapter so it can use 3/8 drive sockets which comes in handy. I put the ratchet to work right out of the box replacing a thermostat on my Chevrolet Sonic and a wiper motor on a 2014 Escalade and it worked excellent on both vehicles. The battery didn’t even lose one notch while working on both vehicles. I like the length and the small ratchet head so I can get into small spaces. The carrying case will come in handy if I need to go on remote jobs. I took a video to compare the 1/4 in. & 3/8 in. Milwaukee ratchets and the 1/4 in. seems slightly faster.

I own a lot of Milwaukee Fuel power tools, and I’ve been impressed with all of them. But somehow, this one seems like it was made by a different product team all together. And it probably was, because it’s an M12 product rather than the M18 line I’m familiar with. Overall, while the product is certainly an effective replacement for a standard manual ratchet, thanks to the similar shape, it could have been a lot better designed and produced. Here are my issues with it:(1) the on/off switch is surprisingly hard to operate. It’s recessed and practically requires you to stick your fingernail into it to move it.(2) The rotating head’s bearing came absolutely packed with grease, to the point where touching it would get your hands covered in the stuff. I’ve never seen a bearing with so much grease on the outside of it!(3) the ratchet head has a hard-to-operate switch to reverse rotation. Impossible to switch quickly. It’s strange that Milwaukee didn’t simply use the forward/reverse switches it uses on its drills and drivers. I guess this is because it’s designed to also work as a manual ratchet, but honestly, that’s a bad trade-off for the difficulty in reversing rotation. It’s way to bulky and heavy to use as a manual ratchet.(4) yes, this ratchet is heavy! It weights 2.5 pounds on my scale (without a socket attached), which can get tiring over extended use.(5) it’s really, really expensive, like 50% more than a great Milwaukee M18 impact driver. What’s the deal? Maybe it’s much harder to manufacture due to the slim head design, but it definitely makes it a tougher sell.Overall, I think this is a decent product if you regularly need the reach of a true ratchet (like auto mechanics would), but I’m much more often going to use my impact driver with 3/8″-drive sockets unless it just won’t fit.

This is an extremely well made ratchet with a relatively slim head for such a tool. The extended reach on this model will help a lot when working in difficult to access areas. The battery charger works fast fully charging the included battery in just 35 minutes. The trigger lock locks the paddle to prevent accidental power up and battery drainage. The torque is superb and the controllable paddle goes from real slow up to 250 RPM. The tool is weighted towards the head and the balance point is a few inches forward of the handle grip and trigger. The soft case holds each part snugly using Velcro straps and there is room to add a second battery.
